the Prius customers should thank Honda. Toyota recently announced price of their next generation 2010 Prius, and it is thousands below what was expected (albeit striped naked). I credit this to Honda''s pricing their new Insight, entry level, below $20K.
Absolutely. Our used Prius was considerably less than it would have been pre-Insight. The markdown of the new Priuses are also affecting the asking prices of the used models ... taking everything down a healthy notch.

Hey DF, what color is your wife''s IS? I''ve been wanting one of those, but DH and I are on the heavy side and we probably wouldn''t fit in it! Is it really fun to drive?

I drive a 2008 Audi TT Roadster Convertible. Its really sexy

I dont have kids yet, so I am trying to enjoying driving a sports car with only 2 seats as long as I can! Haha

NakedFinger, I''m incredibly jealous!!!! I looked at the newer TT Roadsters (can you say droolfest and SO FUN!!!) when I was looking to sell my 01 TT Roadster. Loved that car! Mine was Nimbus grey (the dark grey) with the Baseball Optic leather interior (looked like a baseball glove with thick stitching) and I lament not going ahead and buying the TT over the R32.

Oh, well. Can''t beat the price I got on the R32 with the end of year sales and trunk cash.

Finally the Prius has some competition.
That is healthy for both brands.
*raises hand* I''m thanking Honda for forcing the price cut. We just bought a 2010 Prius this week and it was a great price compared to the older models. Washington state also has a sales tax exemption at the moment so we are just smitten with the deal we got

I drive a 2000 boxster! Its a fun 2-seater and I just love the feel of a convertible sports car!

For the next upgrade in 2 years, I am thinking of a carera 4 or even a boxster again!

My everyday work vehicle is a 2003 Land Rover Discovery SE7...I love it. Never had any problems with it (knock on wood). My extended warranty covers any issues as well as routine maintenance...I think it came with a 50k mile warranty and I just extended it when I purchased it. I love it bc I can actually se over most of the other vehicles on the road. Plus, I have a big dobie who has completely laid claim the back cargo area!!! I''d like to upgrade to a RR Supercharged HSE in the next year or so...the white leather interior is dreamy!

My weekend car is a 2007 Boxster S...it is super fun to drive and there are so many beautiful scenic roads in NC.

I drive a 2001 BMW M3. It''s the first car that I''ve had that I haven''t ''cheated on'' (lusting after something else). Very fun to drive on country roads, but also a great city car!

I drive a 2004 GMC Yukon Denali XL. It''s a land yacht... but necessary for us now - we shop for our business nearly weekly and there are times the 3rd row seat is folded/rolled, car is packed and barely enough room for our family of four. It is SO nice for vacations - we can pack our luggage for a week behing the third row, and travel comfortably. We bought it brand new, with Navigation/XM/DVD, and the Denali is the nicest trim package there is. Have just over 90k miles on it now and (knock wood) have just done maintenance items. We are very happy with it.

Before this, I had a Lincoln Navigator, before that Acura MDX (it was too small for DH!),and before that a Mercedes S320. I miss the Mercedes, but not the maintenance - the alternating A and B services (in lieu of standard oil changes) were never less than $300-$500, 2x per year.

Hubby drives a 2006 Lincoln LT pick up - a really nice truck!

I dream about when I no longer have to drive a huge SUV - I really like the new Toyota SUV - Venza? Like the Infiniti FX (the larger one) and the Nissan Murano. If I get another large SUV, we will probably get an Escalade ESV, Suburban, or Denali XL again. The Lincoln Navigator L and Ford Expedition EL are nice, but too tall for our garage!

I love this thread....because I love cars! I do think people should enjoy and have fun when driving, if you have to do something anyways why not have it be enjoyable. I drive a Porsche Cayenne S and I love it! Though to be honest because you asked about it, the maintenance - just the routine kind, is pricey. You''re looking at $400 for the first scheduled maintenance and $750 for the 2nd one and so on. Mine has only had it''s first maintenance so far, very basic - check filters, oill change, alignment test etc. I love driving it so much, it''s a big SUV but the pep it has makes you feel like you are driving a sports car, it handles like a dream, I can manuever through the tightest spots, angle of turn is fantastic for such a big car. It has all the amenities, the glove compartment even has a cooling feature - like a mini fridge (I love it for my lip balm, I even throw my bottle of water in there sometimes - it stays on even when the car is off, you can turn it on or off too of course). The car itself is wide and quite spacious inside - I think doggies can be quite comfortable in it....
