What do you do with the old setting?

Hi everyone, I have a custom made ring that was inspired by the Locke''s solitaire. I''m thinking of changing my setting again and was wondering what do you do with the old setting. Do you sell the setting as is or do you have a better chance of selling it to someone who can melt the platinum and reuse it? I just need direction as to what would be my better option. Thanks!

If I were you, I'd probably find a beautiful colored gemstone to put in your old setting, and voila! Now you'd have a RHR

If that's not an appealing option, then you could always try selling your old setting on Craigslist or on eBay. Since it was a custom made ring, I'm not sure how good of a resale value it's going to have, but it's worth a shot.

I re-set mine with a colored stone. I''m very happy with it.

i placed a pearl on my old ring setting. I think pearls go well with diamond ring settings. good luck
