got a GoG stone after much pushing from the fellow members here.. many many thanks BTW and will have pics of the ring.. so i''ve made arrangements for the money to change hands but was wondering what to do once i receive the diamond?? i still need a ring and get it set so is there any reason to get it fed-ex-ed to me this week or at all before the ring is picked??

sure, if yo want to see it beforehand. I don''t see a problem with that. You may be responsible for paying the shipping back to GOG if they set your stone or they send it to the manfacturer.

If you want to see it beforehand, sure. Otherwise I would just leave it in the capable hands of GOG until you find a setting. It can be nerve wracking to send it back and forth!

Nervewracking and expensive!

Why don''t you go look at setting designers that GOG carries (Ritani, Tacori, Vatche, etc.) and then call them and have them order the ring and set the diamond for you? That''s really the easiest way to do it so that the stone is covered by their insurance while being set.

I agree with diamondseeker.

Personally, I think it would be best to trust GOG and pick out one of their lovely settings. As DS mentioned, they carry several designer lines and can do custom as well. If you are unsure about your purchase it''s great to view the stone first, but honestly it''s so much easier to just get the whole ring send to you without having to re-send back the stone first. The folks at GOG are great, so you don''t have a lot to worry about.
