any kind of hobby.
DF, did you just get home from meeting one of those couples who lives in a $500K home with no means to pay for it dinner? Just kidding.

What about koi? You think those are a waste of money? Or is that a ''serious'' hobby?

Muah!
yup,big waste of money. sooner or later they die. my wife almost fell into pond when the dealer said.. $60,000 for this koi.
*faints* $60k for a fish that lives, what, 20 years tops? And you think diamonds are a waste? I am feeling more and more sorry for your lovely wife. %60k????????????????????????????????? Oh, my.

bras, we need them but I always think, ''I spent that much for a bra?!?!?''
14.gif
agree, that''s why i went braless years ago.

Starbucks
Lottery tickets
Cigarettes
Tanning Memberships
Evian Water Bottles
Magazines

I will also add expensive cable packages.

We happen to have expensive cable packages for 6 TV''s - this is all hubby''s idea - NOT mine! How many channels do we need?

Wow I agree with SO many of these... bottled water, expensive dinners, socks/underwear/bras (there''s no way they should cost that much!), movie tickets (AND THE FOOD!)

Any kind of public ticket... parking, speeding... even a conceal carry permit - almost $200 for a class to watch some 20-year-old movies and go fire off 10 rounds, then wait 3 months for the sheriff''s office to give me a little piece of paper that they won''t even laminate for me.

Also - fees for broken apartment leases. I had to move because of work 6 months into a year-long contract a few years ago - had to pay 1.5 times my rent to "break" the lease.

Overdraft fees! Argh!

Movie tickets. I don''t even like going to the movies anymore.

"Handling fees" for theater tickets.

I think bottled water plus the plastic waste bothers me. I actually prefer the taste of my tap water anyway.

Premium rate telephone numbers - that you have to call. Like travel agents, insurance co''s, cable co''s etc. Drives me nutty.

Insurance - pay money for what now? Will they even pay out (without arguments) in the event of a loss?

Long mobile telephone calls - just wrap it up, these call cost money ya know? Who what when where and why will suffice.

Candles - Not for power cuts, the ones that smell nice. I love them but it is burning money.

Manolos. Jimmy Choos. Birkens.

You can''t live in your shoes, so they shouldn''t be equal to your rent or mortgage. And you can''t drive a handbag, so why pay thousands? If you have loads of discretionary income, great. If not, it''s foolishness.

Anything you buy because someone else has it. and then realize you don''t really want it!

I think expensive handbags are a waste. I''m all for spending enough money to get quality products, but I think you can get "quality" for $200 or less, and after that you''re just buying a label.

Lottery tickets: people at work seem to love to get the lottery tickets for Christmas when we do a gift exchange. They choose lottery tickets over gift cards! Crazy.

Manicures: I mess them up after 10 minutes ... just seems like a waste. I never did understand how women get them and keep them looking nice. Or maybe I''m just too OCD about it and freak out when there''s the slightest chip. Plus I''d rather just cut and file my nails myself for free.

Tanning: so bad for your skin anyway!

Expensive food. It goes in....it comes out...

Lottery tickets.

itta with the $$$ handbags. Once my husband surprised me with a $1500 bag. I said sweetie I love you and appreciate it BUT it''s leather. I can''t let you spend $1500 on leather...I just can''t. I took the back back and bought a nice little something and saved him like $1300.

uncomfortable shoes. i dont care how sexy they look.

wonder bra''s. trust me, they aren''t wonderful, and anything that pushes your tits up so they touch your chin is more hilarious than wonderful.

interest rates on credit cards. talk about the deadest of the dead money.

any meal that leaves me feeling over full and bloated which i have to diet a week to wear off.

any clothing i''ve ever bought which "will fit me when i''ve lost a few pounds...."

''learn at home'' language cd''s. it''s time to admit i''ll never have the discipline.

anything which promised to reshape my butt and thighs ''at home, in only 20 minutes a day!'' i bought a 4 story house, and the problem took care of itself.

complicated skin care regimens.

anything bought just for the brand.

about 2/3 of the people at my wedding who, 25 years later, i never see and can''t even remember.

big earrings and all perms. (what the hell was i thinking??)

a myriad other things too embarrassing to mention.....

Tiffany jewelry.

And I own a piece.

Ditto the highlighted.

I''m sure there are more, but I found myself nodding the most to this post.

Cigarettes!

An average smoker spends about $2,000 a year on cigarettes. I can think of many other things (healthy things, such as jewelry
27.gif
) I could spend that money on.
YUP!

When I lived in Germany if you didn''t tip the toilet attendants in one of the local department stores they would block your entry to the loo!

Yes that is true. We found that out, before we left for Germany. It is quite common all over there.
