IMHO,

The majority of PS (esp. Hangout) is like the polite conversation you have in the street with the friend you only know 'in passing'. Anything is on the cards but only the inane will be granted more than a cursory discussion.

(There are a handful of sticky topics elsewhere on PS which are the most candid and supportive I have ever seen on forums; they make me proud to be a PS'er and I can't imagine anything being out of bounds. That said, where would we be without the comic relief provided in Hangout even if it is transitory?)

So to answer:

What do we never talk about?

In Hangout it is what can only remain unsaid; that which is unwelcome, that which matters. Anything else is free game!

OOOOOH, one of my facebook friends recently had an ugly baby!! But I feel like posting ugly babies would have some sort of a negative karma effect. Not sure that I ever even want a baby but if I did and it was ugly, I'd know that thread was to blame.

I could totally use help in the resume department.

Here's all you need to know about hamsters. Make SURE you have two of the same sex. Because if the pet store was wrong, you might end up with 17 more hamsters. And then if your bratty little sister sneaks into your room and touches the 17 little hamsters, the mama hamster might get upset and eat one little hamster each day for the next 17 days.

Wish someone had told me that when I had a couple hamsters.....

I was an ugly baby, and I've posted some horrible pictures of my ugly baby-ness, as well as a really scary ugly baby from a website that creates a photo of your future baby if you upload one of yourself and your SO. I think Smurfy created that particular thread in Newlyweds but I can no longer search so I can't find it to share it here.

Our baby looked like that guy with the uneven forehead from Star Trek. Sorry I can't be more specific, my father was a Trekkie so I only have peripheral knowledge of the show. All I can tell you is that his forehead was uneven, and our future baby is going to look like a very small, very angry version of uneven forehead dude from Star Trek. And my mother wonders why we're waiting to have children.

ETA: I share these horrible details with you all to illustrate that we have, in fact, already discussed ugly babies. Believe it or not.

My two hamsters had a complete war one day.

I woke up to a blood infested cage, and one hamster with both eyeballs hanging out of each socket. Imagine that..
