what do I do with my original setting? can it be recycled?

So... while I contimplate my new setting, I am stuck wondering what will become of my original one?
Will jewelers reuse platinum?
My original ering is this one in platinum from BN...
what will I do with it?

I have seen people sell them on Craig''s list, that could be an option. I wish that I could have found a used setting for my ring but I ended up buying new. It was for a diamond I had sitting around and I set it in a ring this weekend finally. My husband did it for my anniversary. I plan on posting pic when the prongs are fixed!
