what dishwasher would you recommend?

I''m looking for a new dishwasher as mine is 7years old (the one that was with the house when it was built) and has started making bad noises. I want to spend no more then $500 and all it needs to do is clean well. The gal at Lowes stated that any Whirlpool would be a good choice but there''s just too many choices and the only thing that is rated is noise level and energy use, not the important part of cleaning power

More than your budget but they can't be beat... any of the Miele models.

Just got a bosch washer installed and love it. I throw everything in it and they come out nice and clean. There is a base model at Lowes Bosch 24-Inch Ascenta Series Dishwasher for $499, basically same thing without the bells and whistles.

We like our kitchenaid. Got it at lowe''s too. I think it might have been a touch more than your budget but it is SUPER quiet which was important for us since we have an open floor plan.

Ditto Kitchenaid. Ours is awesome-everything gets super clean and it''s so quiet you really don''t even know it''s on sometimes!

Kitchenaid for sure. I just went through this. I have a Maytag in FLA that is awful, and a Bosch in Nantucket, that thing is quiet yes, but you open it up and everything is wet!!! And the racks suck.

The Maytag we have in FLA is soooooo noisy , we only run it when we leave the house for a few hours.

I thought my Kitchenaid needed to be replaced here, but found out it was more of a plumbing problem thank goodness. I love love my Kitchenaid....

KitchenAid is Whirlpool, as is Maytag (and a bunch of others).

I was just thinking that I saved enough on my washer and dryer that I could replace my dishwasher

My handicapped son fell on it one day and I think the hinges are
a bit messed up.
