Great idea Whitby! I''m having a crappy day, compounded by my mid-twenties career/life crisis that I''m currently freaking out over

I''m going to take a little break from filling out endless application forms (seriously...is there a worse task? How do you go about not sounding like a complete idiot??) and go play with my doggies for a while

I mopped my floors which I actually liked since I chose not to go to the gym today and rationalized that mopping is actually excercise.
Downloaded 3 books onto my Kindle and now I''m going to curl up with a mug of hot coco and spend the afternoon reading.

I had a few Teuscher chocolates after breakfast. Bit of a diet cheat, and pricey, but so good.

Just turned in the second nerdbook manuscript to my editor. It''ll need a lot of work in revisions but it''s such a weight off to finally be rid of that thing. It took forever to write and by the end it was such an awful, demoralizing slog. I feel like the revisions, however extensive they may end up being, will have to be easier than the writing was. And the writing is done. Done, I say! So that is a wonderful thing for today.

Not sure if tv counts, but I watched the second episode of the Emma miniseries on PBS. Loved it! The first episode was 2 hours, but this was only 1 hour, so I was totally not ready for it to be over. Can''t wait for the last episode next week.

Good question Whitby!

I rearranged and reorganized my classroom with my assistant, and we love how it turned out. I don''t know how long I''ll be there (I''m teaching as a long term sub at my school right now), but I decided that I may as well make the room feel like mine. I think we succeeded -- it''s less cluttered and bright and open.

The other thing that I''ve done so far is change into my jammies (at 2:30 in the afternoon). Hey, I have nowhere else to go now that I''m home from school.

Upgrade, your morning sounds lovely!

Tacori, turkish delight is one of the nicest things in the world. It''s a sort of thick jello, flavoured with rose water (and / or something else, can''t remember) and cut into chunks, which are rolled in powdered sugar.
Mmmm...I love Turkish Delight!

Tacori, they sell some at World Market right now. It''s not very good (kind of dry, actually, not the moist, chewy deliciousness it normally is), but it''ll give you an idea. Also, TJ Maxx/Marshalls will have it from time to time. WM also has the chocolate covered TD, but it''s not nearly as good (IMO, of course).

OMG DH loves Turkish delight [lokum/loucum] he orders it from libertyorchards.com fresh, Rose & Lemon or pistachio very are his favorites with tea!

I had a facial this morning.....feels good

I had the immense pleasure and honor to tell our PS community that Mara''s son (my PS nephew!) arrived in the world this morning!

I''ve been incredibly joyful about it all day!

Trapper asked me this morning "Mommy you nuggle me?" Mommy never turns down an opportunity to "nuggle" her kids!

Got a new dishwasher-not installed yet but it''s here anyway. And had a Moolatte.

Got up early enough to take a long hot shower before the kids woke up.

Wooooooohoooooooo! Now this just made for the best news of my day!

Ooo Hooray for a new baby! Congratulations Mara!

-I took some clothes and shoes to get repaired so I can wear them again (ok this may not sound great but keeping my things -nice and being productive makes me happy).
-This afternoon I will watch a crappy girl movie

I had lunch with my husband today. Always makes my day!

I read Thomas the Tank Engine with James. He can talk now so he repeats the story back. I am one proud mummy!

Let''s see. I booked a spur of the moment long weekend at the end of the month in DC for DH and I. And I found 30 mins to do my treadmill this morning and 45 mins to ride my bike this afternoon. It felt good to get out!

I sent out my bridal shower list and address to my mother and aunts. Felt good to get it done! Also finished extra work my boss dumped on my desk really really quickly! Feeling productive!

I slept an hour late this morning. It was an accident as my alarm was still set to weekend time but I sure did enjoy it.

I also had a yummy lunch of some leftover curried chicken salad, hummos and an unknown dip all from a new little middle eastern deli. It was de-lish!

LOL AWESOME! I will be hitting lvl 60 tonight. I need to get that X pack!!

ETA forgot to qoute. This was to the other WOW geek!

Aww what a great thread! Today has been a quiet day - we spent the weekend celebrating my birthday, and today''s just been downtime. My one thing right now is getting Thai iced coffee- which is one of my absolute favorite drinks and makes me happy

And Whitby, I LOVE Turkish delight!

I had my annual skin check-up today and it was good to hear I got a clean bill of health.

Well one thing is apparent – you’re all sleep deprived!! Amazing how many of us are cheered up by a few more minutes in bed. Kinda goes to show how firmly linked to happiness being well rested is! Although, anything that allows one to avoid facing a wintry morning is a good thing, too. :)

Princess- I like the sound of your friend!

Haven – we’re totally on the same page with this one.

Vc10um – yay for warm beds! (and for the men who are in them!)

Elledizzy – all hugging works :) and good job on being on time!

Monkeypie – as your friend, I’m grateful for your workplace, which seems to be taking good care of you. xo

Rhbgirl24 – I really hope your day picked up. At least somewhere in the world there’s people who are reading your post who care… I heard you, and I wish your day was better.

Charbie – I love bright green! I’ll bet you looked killer…

Lilyfoot – just the word ‘snuggle’ can cheer a person up…

RockHugger – you WoW folks are fanatics! Glad you got to indulge your passion :)

Smurfy – I’ve been reading about your last 6 months – It’s great you’re knuckling down and making progress – glad to hear your day went well.

Hudson Hawk – bad day? Oh really?? And if I tell you I took a drive up to the top of the Blue Mountains today and picked up something lovely for 2 certain PS mothers to be…would that help? :D Mwah!

Novel – great job. Seriously great job.

Fiery – notes from the boss’ are rare and terrific. Not at all surprised this was a high point in your day :)

NewEnglandLady – extra time with loved husbands is always a good part of the day.

Mrs Mitchell – the picture of a mother snuggling with her little girl while her husband makes them breakfast was a lovely image in *my* day! What a lovely way to start your day :)

Tacori E-ring – I love your quote – and I love your attitude.

Upgrade – I’m so pleased your family is ‘the good part of your day’. Lucky girl!

Joflier – best friends are always a good part of the day :)

MissMina – I love the picture of you walking around your property with your son; you’ve obviously found the ability to see something good in every day.

Amethyste – awww
7.gif
I hope he’s feeling better soon. But maybe his good thing is having you to look after him!

Lilac – great part of any PSer’s day! Congratulations on your new purchase!

Bonjour Madam Bijoux! I hope you had a great day at the show :)

Porridge –‘playing with doggies’ = therapy with legs. Definitely a good thing to happen in a person’s day!

Matata – ‘mopping’, ‘downloading’ and ‘curling’ – all good things :)

Liane! - Well done! Today is a wonderful day for you – congratulations!

Elrohwen – of course it counts! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Next time – add chocolate :D

ZoeB – rearranging a whole classroom definitely justifies jimmies at 2.30! Sounds like a lovely day.

Rachel9 – ooooh – facial! – yummmm!

Allison D – being the bearer of good news – what a joy!

Packie, my friend – new dishwasher, moolatte and nuggling? Great day!

MC – great way to start the day – kinda lifts the whole thing, doesn’t it?

4ever – I’m all about looking after my stuff and making it last – it’s a great feeling, isn’t it? And yay for girl movies!

Kama_s – a lovely ‘good thing’. :)

Maisie – I’m glad you’re still seeing the good things in each day – and james is one big ‘good thing’. Lucky mommy.

April20 – you healthy thing, you! And plans for long weekends with husbands – definitely a good thing!

MonkeyPants – feeling productive is always good – a good thing in any day.

Gayletmom – mmmm!...middle eastern delis…mmmm!

Brown.Eyed.Girl – congratulations on your birthday, Turkish delight PS sister! :)

CDNinNYC – that kind of news would lift any day. Good news indeed :)

Whitby’s good thing – I spent the day with one of my favorite people in the whole world in the country I love. At one point today I was laying on my bed, a balmy breeze blowing, listening to the birds, looking out at the blue sky and I thought – “My life is filled with gifts and I am the luckiest woman in the world.”

I’m glad so many of my PS sisters feel the same way.

very nice to hear :) i love quiet evenings with my DH - so nice!

and i''m in australia at the moment, so it''s 1.25am for me and i *should* be sleeping. but it''s cool and quiet and relaxing and i''ve always thought that this time of day was ''my time''. no expectations, nothing to do, no-one who needs anything from me - just peace and quiet.

lovely :)

1. Got up and worked out - hate working out but always feel like a million bucks afterwards, and accompished.
2. Spent the rest of the evening just relaxing with DH. And I realized when I watch romantic comedies or cute relationships on TV, it just makes me appreciate him that much more.
3. Snoozed for 20 minutes for some extra cuddle time this morning!

On Sunday, I finished a book.
36.gif

Yesterday, I surprised FI and took him to a book talk by one of the authors of a book to 'Decode' Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. There weren't actually many people there, so we got to ask lots of questions and chat very intimately with the author, and FI was excited to buy the book and get it signed. He loves those Dan Brown books and related topics, so I thought he would enjoy it, and we really did! Then, he sprung for sushi, which meant no one had to cook!

Today, I cleaned out my car. Long overdue, and the trunk is still a mess, as well as the floors need a vacuuming, but there is no clutter, and the seat are all cleaned. I still need a thorough detailing, but I'll do that later this spring. And I cleaned it because my dad is coming to town, and I get to pick him up in a little over an hour

My happy moment of the day so far: I read Whitby''s responses to everyone who commented in the thread and realized what a thoughtful and loving community we have here!

And yay for Mara! Such happiness!!!
