Here is an example of the Vatche X Prong w/a Facets diamond eternity band ... to me I think your going to have more space between the rings. I think the head on the Royal Crown sits up a lil'' higher to accomodate a wedding ring more snugly.

I think the fact that the band of the RC tapers in at the head that makes the w-band sit closer, too. The x-prong appears to be widest at the head.

I didn''t mean to forget about you ... I had a difficult time trying to find the thread again. It is in the "Show me your wedding set''s". Here is the link.

Mrs Darlin Joy, how do I setup a poll?

Also you pointed out that 106 and 109 look identical. I agree with you. On their website 106 is called "Royal X Prong" and 109 is called "Round X Prong". Can anyone notice and difference?

I think the photo is wrong on the GOG site. You need to be looking at the settings on the Vatche site. As I recall, there was a difference in the heads.

Yep, I was right. Look at the part that goes across the diamond. They have the wrong pictures on the GOG site for one of them. I just emailed Marie to let her know.

(P.S. Thanks Mrs DJ!)

I thought maybe he accidently listed a ring twice ... instead of wanting us to see something else. However, after looking more carefully, I think the difference is how the shank is. I believe, and I could be wrong, but I think the X Prong ... is the original version and its more thick looking, like in the picture with the facets band. The Royal X Prong I think the shank tapers in slightly towards the diamond, pulling your eye upwards. The only way to really be sure is to call Marie at Good Old Gold.

Hokie, as far as a poll ... I''ve only done it once and I messed up, but I would be willing to give it a try if you want, or perhaps you could hit the messg admin button and tell them what you are wanting and see if they can do it for you ... just let us know.

Thanks and have a great day!

Mrs DJ is correct. If you look on the Vatche site you can see that the other difference is the shank. The Royal does taper in more toward the head.

Hokie, I''ve messed up and succeeded with the polling feature. Still, the best walk through is the tutorial in the help section (upper right) here.

Thanks guys and gals for all of your hard work. I think I have it narrowed down to the royal x prong 106 and the royal crown with round channel 120. What's your opinions on 6 prongs vs 4 prongs? I really like 120, but I think that the setting may be too high. My sweetheart works in healthcare and it may be a hassle with gloves on. Both are the exact same price too. Comments please...........

Hi Hokie ~

I am in healthcare too, and have had very high mountins ... you learn to adjust how to put on and take off your gloves ... that simple ... at least it was for me.

Others might chime in here with their experiences with a higher type mounting and being in healthcare.

I think it would be wise to call Marie on Tuesday when they open and see how high the royal crown with round channel''s is, versus, the Royal X Prong with round channel''s. See if there is a huge difference.

They both look like they might be similar, due to those gorgeous shoulders that taper upwards towards the center diamond.

My first choice would be:

#1. Royal Crown with round channel set diamonds, of course paired off with a beaustiful straight diamond half eternity, or full eternity band.

#2. Royal X Prong with round channel set diamonds, and paired with straight diamond band as above ... I think you will have more of a gap with the Royal X Prong due to how the the X''s cross.

I wouldn''t consider the U prong unless you had a square''ish diamond and went with the square channel set diamonds. I just like the look of this ring better w/ the squares.

Have a great day!

Great advice as usual mrs darlin joy.

The u prong has been out of the running, it is quite a bit more expensive. I do like the royal crown better, plus it can be my queen''s little crown. It has 6 prongs and marie said out personal preference she likes the 4 prongs better, but it was just a personal thing only. What do you think about the 6 prongs? Also I like the way the x prong comes together at the setting v/s the royal crown. So I like things about both.

OK it''s all over except for the wait. I went with the royal crown 120.

Yay! Congratualtions!!! Now I have to go find out what a 120 is!

Okay, I see.. the RC with round channel. Great choice! Can't wait to see the pictures!

OOOPPPPPSSS, sorry. I should have posted a pic of it huh?!
