Ms Darlin Joy, the GemEx Live Report that you posted, is that for 2161?

yes, that''s the GemEx report for 2161..

Glad to hear it''s eye clean. Looks like a winner to me!!!

Oh yeah... that''s a winner! 18K for yellow gold definitely. I''d just pick one of the vatche settings get this diamond and go for it!

I really like that 1.1 I SI1 from GOG. In fact, the diamond I bought had almost the exact same specs. Mine was a 1.135 I SI1 from GOG with very similar angles (crown angle about 0.1 degrees different). You can see some pictures I posted if you are interested in what my diamond looked like mounted in platinum.

I had a great experience with GOG as well. Good luck in your search!

Hi everyone ~

Thanks for answering the questions for me!

All I know is ... if I could affoard it ... that diamond (1.10ct I SI1) would not be for sale!

And It will not last long. It has nice numbers, It is eyeclean ... and it's gonna be soooooo sparklie! Priced to sell!!!

I love the Vatche line too. I think there styling and craftmanship is

.

I can imagine any lovely lady going "crazy wild" with those two combinations~!

P.S. If you go with Gold, definately go with 18K. My Vatche that is in the works as we speak is 18K ... only white gold for me. I love both though ... WG & YG, and my jewelry box shows it too, about 1/2 and 1/2!

First off... hi from one Hokie to another!

I dont have much to offer in terms of help with selecting a diamond (although it appears others have taken good care of you as usual!) but just wanted to say that I love Vatche settings, especially the Royal Crown (last one posted by gypsy)... it was the first setting that made my heart go pitter-pat! She will absolutely love any of those!

You really can''t go wrong with GoodOldGold and a Vatche setting. I have had very nice communication with several of these vendors, but Jonathan at Good Old Gold is a person I hold in very high regard. I trust him completely to help me choose a diamond. And Vatche is a high quality setting.

I like this diamond a lot, too! I am looking at H color for myself.

OK, so many people have raved about 2161 I have put 110% of my trust in you guys and 2161 is now officially off the market....LOL!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all of you for helping me, I''m even going with a Vatche setting. I was told by GOG that they are closed for the next several weeks, so I will have to wait a little while for the ring. But don''t you guys leave me just yet, I will probally need more advice from you.....................LOL!!!

THANKS TO ALL THAT HAVE HELPED!!!!!!!!!

Yay! Congratulations!!!
36.gif
( But YIKES, Vatche is closed for a few weeks??? That is very bad news!!)

YAY!!!!

Vatche is closed for WEEKS? Hmm. That sucks. Oh well. It will be worth the wait.

As for which vatche? The royal crown has my vote too (6 prong)... if it''s in the budget... I do think that Royal crowns cost more than the X and U prongs though. But all of them are lovely!

yay for you. i''m 100% sure you won''t be disappointed in that stone. I love the royal crown too and one I''ve considered for my own ring..

YAY!!!! Congrats!!! The Vatche setting will be worth the wait. Can''t wait for the pics of this baby!!! Great choice!!

Yay to Hokie!

Congrats! That stone is going to sparkle galore!!!

As far as Vatche, they are in Manhattan, and with most of the district will be on vacation. I believe they come back on the 17th, if I remember corectly.

My diamond is or should be in the appraisers hot hands as we speak, and then he will time it to send it to Vatche for setting as soon as they come back from vacation!

Hokie, what Vatche setting are you going to get that pretty diamond set in?

Here is mine ... it is a plain solitare that I will wear with two diamond pave half eternity style bands flanking each side.

How exciting Hokie! Keep us updated!

Yup! It's 120. Is that in your budget? I don't recall the price of the diamond.

Yeah it''s in my budget. The diamond is about 5500.

Love the new AV. Very cool.

I''d do a PS poll on which one of these the ladies would pick for your diamond. (Pictures of the rings in 18K and platinum are available on the vatche website www.dvatche.com go to catalogue and on the right it will give you a 18K and platinum section... they are under solitares). Unless you have a favorite already.

Hi Hokie ~

Here is the link to the Vatche web site ... also ladies ... they have "NEW" settings you might want to feast your eyes on!

Here is a pic of the V-120: It is a Royal Crown with round channel set diamonds. I have also included a pic of what the matching band would look like.

This ring/set is GORGEOUS!

Hi Hokie ~

I noticed that the V-106 & V-109 look identical ... but here it is, just a little bigger. It is the Royal X Prong with round channel sides.

And here is your V-135. It is called the Double U prong with round center and round sides.

WOW! Ms Darlin Joy, how do you do that?? LOL! I sort of like the double U, but I'll wait and see what the pro's on here say about the choices. Plus I will have to price all of those with GOG tomorrow.

Ha,ha! Hokie ... it takes me a while to do it ... but I am trying to get better at my photoshop skills, I figure the more I do it, the better I''ll get. I still have some issues to work out though.

I like the double U prong too, I like the "double" prongs when you look at the diamond face up. I don''t know about the sides though, how the shoulders meet up to the top of the diamond, it might just be this particular picture. I can be so nit-picky about lil'' things that would bug myself, like if the shoulders didn''t meet up nicely to the top of the diamond ... No gap please!

I always try to reccommend to think ahead about the wedding band. Most times fellas forget about the band ... some rings don''t even have a matching band, let alone one that would fit nicely up against the ering. You don''t have to buy it now, but just think ahead about what the set will end up looking like, something fluid and just not pieced together half hazardly.

All in all, I think anyone couldn''t go wrong with the classic style of the royal crown. The head is very gracefull and definately romantic!
emlove.gif

You should do a poll like Gypsy suggested and see what the other ladies think.

Have fun!

Hi hokie..just was browsing and stumbled on this setting from Pearlmans Closeout section. Didn't know if your gal might like it? they've got the matching wedding band too. It's a die struck piece which means it's extremely well made..

Mrssalvo, that''s not a bad looking ring at all.

How do you do the poll that you guys have mentioned? I''ve got til Tues to make my mind up.

I am also buying a diamond from GOG and may get a Vatche setting as well. I like all of those e-rings. However, I must tell you that I extremely dislike that curved wedding band that goes with the Royal Crown. So if any of the others can have a straight wedding band, I'd prefer them. Or I'd take a gap and wear the Royal Crown with a straight band. There are rare occasions where a woman might want to wear just her band and I just don't like those curved ones at all. I'd just try to get a band from Vatche because it will match up better.

I think of those I like the Royal X-prong with round channel (106).

Hi Hokie ~

I personally would want a straight band too with the Royal Crown. Here is an example of the tiny gap you would have with a straight diamond band. This is Butterfly17''s gorgeous Royal Crown and wedding or anniversary diamond band!

and a gorgeous side view of Butterfly17's Royal Crown ...

You can get an idea of what it would look like, if you get the one Royal Crown with the channel set rounds ... more bling!

Mrs DJ, do you mind showing me that thread? I thought butterfly17 was Kayla with the Ritani setting. Are there two butterfly's or does Kayla have two sets of rings? I am SO glad to see a RC with a regular band. That looks like a Tiffany w-band and I'd like to know where it came from, too, as I like a basket setting on that kind of band. Thanks!

ETA: I found the original thread with the RC, and it is her child's name that is Kayla. So I take it that she must have later changed to the Ritani.

Anyway, here is a thread where someone bought the RC channel set:

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/vatche-royal-crown-w-channels-from-gog.32159/=

ETA #2: It appears there are two Butterfly 17's!!! No wonder I was confused. So nevermind! (And that is a real Tiffany w-band if anyone else wondered).

Here is an example of the Vatche X Prong w/a Facets diamond eternity band ... to me I think your going to have more space between the rings. I think the head on the Royal Crown sits up a lil'' higher to accomodate a wedding ring more snugly.
