What color for a pendant?

I'm thinking about treating myself to a diamond pendant in a white gold slide bezel. I have a pendant right now that is 0.35 carats, so I'd definitely like a size upgrade. Although I can see color, I don't mind it in the beautifully-cut stones that I see on pricescope. The earrings I wear daily are very good cut and H color studs (0.85 TCW) and I actually get compliments on them all the time even though they are a pre-pricescope purchase.

What color would you go for?

Size suggestions with a total budget of $2,000 including the setting (so 1600 for the diamond, approximately)?

This is such a personal question and answers can range anywhere from D to Z. I don't mind H-J for a pendant stone.

I am in the same position except a bit farther ahead. I decided to look for a vintage stone and bought a .83ct OMC from OWD. It was not listed on their website but I called and talked to Adam and he gave me a few options. The stone is H I1 and I think lovely. I then sent the stone to David Klass who is making me a sliding pendant on an 18kt wg chain. The total for all will be ~$2k. Brian Gavin is also having a sale right now and that would certainly be a place I would look also had I not decided on a vintage stone. I decided I was looking for a stone that was 5.5-6mm in size (mine is 6) and anywhere from F-M in a vintage stone. Non vintage I would go down to a j-k but if that low would want flouro. I think if you search for my posts you can find a link to the video of my stone from OWD. Good Luck and how fun!!! :P

As long as the stone doesn't look yellow to me (unless I'm going for yellow) I don't care what the letter is. I have an "M" OMC right next to a "G" pear and they look great. I happily wear "K" rbs and would probably go lower esp since for a necklace or earrings you don't really see the profile which is where you will notice the color the most.

HI:

My Tiffany DBTY is an F color. I wanted it "icy white" since it is always front and center. Perfect choice for me.

cheers--Sharon
