What color are your eyes?

Loved the baby pictures! I have hazel, they can change to full green if I'm tired.

I am not sure what color mine are! At a quick glance they appear brown, but in the sunglight you can see a lot of green/amber.

Here is a picture... what do you all think?

OK here they are. Mine are blue (they look a tad gray.. but are def more blue) and FI has green. He was not smiling in that picture so his eye doesn''t look happy.

Mine are brown with a green ring around the pupils.

Mine are blue with gray speckles. My family has always said they look like the butts of a blueberry.

My eyes are a medium grey-blue-green color and change depending on the lighting and what I'm wearing.

Re: Eyes changing color when tired or upset. - The eye pigment stays the same, but the little red blood vessels throught out the white of the eye get infamed and become more noticable, and the area around the eye and eyelid can get puffy and pink. This change in the color of the tissue adjacent to the iris, causes the perception of the color of the iris to shift due to the newly contrasting colors of it's surroundings.

Sad blue eyes will look very blue if the eyes have been reddened with crying. (Just like all those special eyeshadow formulations that are supposed to enhance certain eye colors)

Mine are a dark golden pecan brown.

How did you guys ever take pictures of your eyes? And they are all beautiful by the way. I had the hardest time taking a photo of my ear to post here when I had new earrings made. It took many MANY tries!

I love the eye pictures!

Circe--Your eyes are a really beautiful color. I don''t think I''ve ever seen eyes that color before--wow!

Here are my doodie brown eyes.

(And my horribly unruly eyebrows--yikes. Nothing like a super closeup.) DH says they (my eyes) look red sometimes, but I''ve never seen that.

Aw, thanks Haven! I didn''t even notice the compliment at first because I was too busy admiring the shape of your eyes and eyebrows - THAT is what you call unruly? Woman, you are far too hard on yourself: in my dream-world, my eyebrows look like that!

Lily, those are the color of my daughter''s! I''ve been trying to label them for ages (now that she''s 18 mo''s and past the "they might change" phase). I decided they are hazel after taking various informal polls! Beautiful color even though I''m biased ;).

As for me, boring old brown, and proud!

Well in MY dream world, my eyes look like your eyes. I would be surprised if there was anyone else in the world who has your eye color and shape. They''re really beautiful and I''m quite jealous.

As for my eyebrows, I suppose they''re not TOO bad in that picture. If I didn''t keep them trimmed though (and I mean trimmed, with actual scissors!), they''d look like this. No joke.

I have dark brown eyes.

My older sister has green eyes.

My younger sister has blue/gray eyes.

FI has brown eyes but one of them has one quarter where there''s no pigment. It''s really weird and it freaked me out when I met him. I would say 95% I stare at that spot when I''m talking to him.

So if there is no pigment, is it just black there? What''s it look like?? I''m intrigued!

He has Sectoral Heterochromia. There''s just a portion of one of his eyes that is a different color. He has an identical twin brother who doesn''t have this condition. He, and all his brothers (3) all have INCREDIBLY thick lashes. It''s like they have an extra row or something. He''s always complaining that he can''t find sunglasses that his lashes down constantly hit when he blinks. He finds zero sympathy from me.

This IS NOT a picture of his eye, but it''s an example of what sectoral heterochromia looks like. His eyes are brown and with one section that is kind of green. It''s not as defined as the eye in this picture.
Whoa that''s almost exactly what my SIL''s eye looks like! I didn''t know it had a name! Now I can tell her and feel smart. LOL.

Lilylover, you have incredible eyes! Not sure what colour you''d call that, but in my head it''s called "ohmygosh, beautiful!"

Yeah, Lilylover, I was going to say almost the same thing. No matter what the colour, they''re amazing!

Ok, so I guess my eyes are considered hazel but to me the look green with a gold splat.

They get darker green towards the edge. My eyes are in the top pictures.
I think eyes in my family are really interesting. My sisters (featured in the bottom 3 pics.) look like golden caramels in real life with speckles. They are pretty vivid and everyone comments on them. My Mom''s are blue with green/gold in the center (wish I had a pic) and my dad''s are a rich dark brown that sometimes does the reddish thing in certain light.

Ahh, one of my sis'' eye''s disappeared. Ok, so that makes her the bottom 2 pics.

GORGEOUS!!!

Green eyes. Though looking at them in the mirror, I can see a spot on the upper left iris that is brown/hazel.

As far as not having any blue eyed kids because her fiance is brown eyes, remember your genetics! Blue is recessive. You could say if both you and your fiance had blue eyes, that you are sad you won''t have any brown eyed kids, but not the other way around. Any of the brown-eyed people can have recessives for blue or light colored eyes. There are actually 3 genes that code for eye color so it can get pretty complicated, but yes the blue eyed is recessive.

An example: Mother has hazel eyes, father has dark brown eyes. 4 children: 1 brown eyed, 2 green eyed, and 1 blue eyed.

I had blue eyes as a child but now they''re green. I use a purple or even green eyeliner and that accentuates nicely.

I always say brown but mine have a lot of green in them, so maybe hazel is more accurate? My husband has the most GORGEOUS blue eyes. Seriously ridiculous. If I have any bebehs I want them to have his eyes.

It was funny-our wedding (and engagement pic) photographer was taking some close ups and said "Clay I hope your kids end up with your eyes!" I was like "HEEEEEEEY I am right here!"

Mine are light blue/green/gray:

Dh has really nice hazel eyes, so I have no idea what color our kids eyes will be.

Haven, I have the same brows as you. Brooke Shields brows!

My eyes don''t look like any I''ve seen here, so I posted a pic. In the sunlight they''re more baby poop green, indoors they''re a bit more mellow.

btw- my mom has very light blue eyes and my dad has really dark brown eyes. 4 children = 2 blue, 1 brown, 1 green.

DH has green eyes too although they were hazel until within the last few years. JT has bright blue eyes.

Janine --- How cool that your daughter has the same color. Mine didn''t change much after a year old ... so hers might stay the same.

Gecko, princess, BBO ... thank you! The majority of my life I wished I had blue eyes, but as I am getting into my adult years I am starting to like the color.

This thread is super cool. They say eyes are the window to the soul...we''ve seen a lot of souls here!

Here are my eyes...my driver''s license says brown, but they definitely two-toned.

Dark brown eyes...

I have no idea, sometimes they're green, blue, and I think I see, OMG, some grey (colored stoners will laugh at that one). Natural diffused light (ha ha ha).

Everyone has such beautiful eyes. Mine are green.

I don't normally wear that much makeup, but I was headed to a gallery opening that day after a long day at work. I loaded on the eyeliner to make me feel better.

I agree, everyone does have gorgous eyes!! I typically wear makeup too, but my eye photo is "naked" above. I should have posted an eye makeup photo come to think of it.

My eye looks kind of "scary."
