Hi everyone, I'm a newbie in diamond. What can we know about a diamond from a IdealScope image.
For this image http://www.jamesallen.com/_images/idealscope/RE649id.jpg can we tell how good is the return light of a diamond?

From the image above, it shows pale pink so can i say that the light leakage is poor. and the arrow is very blurry and not very clear cut. so does it means this diamond does not has a good H&A?

My role on Pricescope now prohibits me from commenting on specific stones, so I can''t help you there.

I did want to point out, though, that whether or not a diamond exhibits true H&A patterns can only be determined with an H&A viewer. While you may see arrow-like shapes through an idealscope, judging an H&A diamond is ''all in the hearts''.

It seems like the Idealscope images at James Allen are a little lighter colored overall than the ones you see from other merchants. That image actually looks pretty good to me. What you''re looking for are sections of lighter pink, grey or white. There will be some of each on just about every diamond; what you''re looking for are things like a ring of grey/white around the center of the stone, or random-looking large patches of grey/white/lighter pink.

No.....that is a great idealscope image! The things you refer to all have to do with the photography!

Oh i see. Another thing i''m not sure about is why some other idealscope image shows very sharp arrow image but some like the one i''m posted, the arrow is blurry.

Image looks exellent.
The pink is the reflector used, they are using the beginner scope instead of the pro model and the photography isnt the best but its good enough for what we need.

What are the crown and pavilion angles?

The crown is 33.8%
and the pavil is 40.6%

What is the table %?
And the girdle?

Those angles need careful consideration and a check for contrast issues.
JA can have that done for you.
The stone will have more white light return over fire.

The table is 55.5% and the girdle is 1.0-1.6% medium. I had check that the dimension from sarin report and the AGS are differents. is it normal. the dimension i had gave are from sarin report.
