??

Amys Bling where you wondering how ManhattanSpins search was going as well? Or were you wondering what I was asking?

I meant "were" not where :rodent:

That stone has great light return, but it looks like the inclusions are top and center. You probably want to see the stone in person to see if the inclusions are noticeable close up.

I had the same concern, but they said it's completely eye-clean...which I guess is subjective.

Yes, eye-cleanliness is an annoyingly subjective matter and vendors and PSers do not always see eye-to-eye.(no pun intended)

If I had your budget, I would contact Wink at High Performance Diamonds and see what highest color & he could source for your budget. Those stones are phenomenal!
Before you go knocking SI's, check out this (too small for you, but educational) stone and video.

It's not subjective in a woo hoo way. It depends on your eyesight. That's not something a vendor can tell you. Cause they don't have your eyes. But you can have them send it to you and you can see what you think yourself.

It is a nice diamond. It might be more mindclean for you. Call BGD and talk to Leslie and see how you feel. That's what I'd do.

That's a virtual stone so you can probably find it on other lists. I would only deal with one vendor on virtual stones to make the process easier. Most of them can call in the virtual stones. That one doesn't even have the lab report, so we have no idea if it is good or not.

Use this search tool and just choose a vendor like Good Old Gold, WhiteFlash, or ID Jewelry who will evaluate the stones for you and can call them in. Might be easiest and less expensive to use GOG or IDJ since they are in NY and can just pick up many of the diamonds and you save on shipping that way.

Here is the GIA Cert:

https://myapps.gia.edu/ReportCheckPortal/getReportData.do?&reportno=2141455703&weight=3.14#

Crown: 36
Pavalian: 40.6
HCA: 1.8. Its a Fiery Ideal Cut which is not THAT deep, which I think is pretty rare. After getting my fiances diamond, I found I liked fire the most, and would be interested in seeing how FICs performed in life. Haha, so i would say have IDJ call it in and take a look. Maybe have them also get a more traditional Ideal cut, and see which one you like the look of better.

Per Pricescope search:

USACerted: $67627
Solomon: $68029
Abazias: $68808
Conversely BGD: $69227

+1. I am in NYC area, and worked with IDJ on finding a virtual stone. They match the beat/best price of any other vendor (even if it is not listed on there site), provide Idealscope/ASET etc, and you can go there and see the stone in person. As Diamondseeker also told me on my search, if you live in NYC, it makes sense to take advantage of this. I would email Yektutial and tell him you are interested in that specific stone.

Yekutiel might be able to send you an IS. But I would not spend 70k on a diamond without an IS. And the first three vendors you listed don't offer anything like that. And they also do not offer any trade ups or buy backs. Considering the diamond work up you get with vendors like BGD and GOG AND the trade in, in THIS case it might be worth paying a little more for a more informed decision. You can always all BGD and say... hey would this diamond qualify for a upgrade policy? If so... this diamond is listed at this price else where-- will you negotiate to a price in between this price and that one. Or call ERD and see what Mark will offer you, and he is in Manhattan AND can provide a diamond work up.

Sorry I was not more clear. I was not recommending any of those 3 vendors. Simply showing the same stone was cross listed. I was recommending Yekutiel who will absolutely be able to send an IS. Furthermore my understanding is ManhattanSpin lives in Manhattan. IDJ is on 47th street which would mean he can go in and see the stone in person as well. That he cannot do with BGD and which would be slightly inconvenient with GOG. IDJ would give the best price. The trade ups/buy backs are certainly something to consider. I also had a good experience with IDJ so may be introducing some bias towards them.

I've bought two things from IDJ and always call them when I need something. I think they are great. And definitely worth a call.

ERD is also in Manhattan though. And they do offer upgrade policies and also have great customer service. Which is why I suggested them as a local resource.

GOG is out of the way but in state.

And BGD is out of state. But some people consider that an advantage. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that it's something people do consider a benefit if their personal code is geared that way.

Even old timers (or some might say, ESPECIALLY old timers) have biases. Just... keep in mind that there are many vendors and each person has different needs.

Points taken. ERD would be a good bet, as could BGD due to state line issues.
