Alright all...

I''ve attached a pic of my ering...and we are meeting with our jeweler re: bands this afternoon. Just as an FYI, the wedding bands will not sit flush because of the surprise diamonds on the ering...

What sort of band would work? Or bands?

I''m thinking of two bands - one on each side - same size as the band on the ering - both in platinum with melee.

OR

I''m thinking of two rose gold bands with melee? Would that look horrid?

OR

I''m thinking of three bands - two diamond and one sapphire, all platinum- but I''m not sure they make sapphire that small...then I''d wear three bands and my ering on my right hand...

OR

three diamond bands, one platinum two rose gold.

any thoughts?

Hi Lyss,

Have you seen this thread? https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/im-a-mrs-now.32871/

Mommy2nk has a ring VERY similar to yours, so check this out...her set is gorgeous!!! I would totally do something like that with the 2 bands....note, they dont sit completely flush, but it still looks FAB!!!

Good luck and let us know what you decide!!!

I vote one thin pave band in plat. I''ve read here that you''re not supposed to let the rose gold rub the plat. so I don''t know if that would be an option. I''m sure your jeweler would know for sure. If it''s not a problem you could always get whatever bands you want so you can mix and match. I just love having ways to do that

I *think* I would get one or two platinum/pave bands the same size or thinner than your e-ring band & wear them flanking yr. e-ring.

THEN, for your first anniversary -- get a pink diamond in rose gold (or pink diamonds in platinum) possibly thicker band to wear between your pave/platinum w-bands ... sometimes. When you either don't want to wear your e-ring ... or want to wear it on yr. other hand.

(Gold can rub platinum for short term wear ... just not everyday forever ... IMO)

ETA: the "anniversary" band later could also be either black diamonds, or blue sapphires OR -- craziest of all -- SHARED PRONG!!! Like Jen Garner's original e-ring that she now wears between her pink diamond band & her plain platinum band. Having your "wedding ring" be a neutral set of bands that will always "go" -- with the "wilder, trendier" choice as an add-on later seems like the safest bet!

A thin pave band that matches the width, height, and pave style of the shank of your e-ring.

I''m not sure I would do more than one band b/c your ring already has so much going on with the halo and everything. I would keep it simple with one so that you can still see the center stone.

WHAT HAPPENED???? LADY, WHERE IS THE UPDATE. You can''t be all "I like asschers blah, blah" and leave your OWN thread hanging!!!!!

I agree. I think 3 bands AND your e-ring on the same finger might be a little too much.

I''m sure i''ll be in the minority here but i''d love to see you choose rose gold - but that could be because I LOVE rose gold (I''m having my ering done in it). I do concur with some above posts about possible rubbing, some may get tired of it, etc. But replacing the melee bands if you get tired of them, etc would be a great anniversary gift!

If you do go the rose gold route make sure to ask the vendor to show you pics (or in person would be best) what colour the rose gold is. There seems to be a LOT of hues of rose gold out there!

Sorry. Hehee. But I do LOVE asschers...blah blah blah! I couldn''t find my own thread earlier and then I went to lunch...

I stink. It is a well documented fact!

So after meeting with the jeweler...he said I couldn''t get sapphires small enough...so no three bands.

He showed me a band that is a perfect match for my ering (melee and same width), and has an ever so slight bend curve in it so it will fit totally flush with my ering.

At this point, I ordered a single platinum band with the melee.

I tried on two bands, and it kind of took away from the center stone a bit. But I think I''ll do another demo when my band comes in so I can see if I like the two...cause I really did kind of have my heart set on it.

But I LOVE the idea of adding a second (or third) band as an anniversary pressie! Pink diamonds are faboo! And I do so love rose gold. And sapphires. FI said that at this rate I''ll have like 32 wedding bands!!!

Am I forgiven?

I''m glad you went with one platinum pave band. That would have been my vote! I think you should wear your e-ring on your left hand. You can always do stacking rings on your right hand!
