what are your summer travel plans??

looks like hubs and i have a bit of fun traveling coming up and i thought it may be fun to start a thread of all the summer travels everyone has planned.

we've got:

asheville, nc
san antonio, tx
new orleans, la
savannah, ga
hawaii

well, technically not this summer, but i had to include it

i'm super excited about every one of them! i absolutely love traveling to new places. sharing new experiences and making new memories.

so tell me, what are your travel plans this summer??

Let''s see...I''m thinking I''m going to surprise BF with a trip to Asheville later this summer. I''d like to make it to Savannah for a few days to see a friend. Other than that I have no plans to travel, but I''m thinking I might do Vegas in October (GTG plus I''ve never been there, plus a Jimmy Buffett concert...could be a blast!). I might be doing some day trips, or maybe a weekend in Charleston, SC.

sounds like fun!! yeh, savannah is a surprise for hubs. and all our trips are weekend getaways except for hawaii. .

Our travel for this year are over

, we went to Paris, France and Barcelona, Spain this spring and just about 3 weeks ago we went to St. Louis and Chicago. We might go for a quick weekend up to Durango, CO this summer just to get away. We probably will go to Hawaii next summer. Which islands do you plan to visit? I love it there; I wish we lived there. hehe

I love Savannah, my SIL lives out there and it is gorgeous, for sure one of my favorite places to visit! I also love Asheville, the Biltmore is amazing

Our plans are still all over the place. D just got back from climbing in OR, MT, UT and CO and we''re taking a quick NYC trip for the 4th. Then we planned a quick trip to Yosemite for some climbing, then a nice drive up the Pacific Coast highway. We were hoping to go to Italy for a week in the fall, but with DH changing his career and starting some classes this fall, I think we might table that trip. We definitely need to get back to Hawaii, but that''s a better winter trip.

We are going to the Outer Banks on Saturday, for a week. I''m really looking forward to it. Must. Start. Packing.

hawaii, well i''m trying to narrow it down between kauai and maui. i''ve read nearly every hawaiian thread on ps, but can''t decide!! we''re also checking out the big island & a little of oahu.

We''re hoping to fling the tent in the back, pack a sleeping back or two and take a road trip through Belgium, Holland, Germany and France in my bug convertible for a few weeks. Stopping of at the champagne region to stock up. If we don''t get going this summer then we''ll grab a quick weekend city break somewhere for a few days. That''s what I love about living in Europe, we''ve so many amazing countries and cultures on our doorstep. We''re hoping that next year we can go visit friends in Melbourne but stopping off in Hong Kong and Japan on the way, maybe heading home via LA, we''ve not yet decided.

I love travelling and love hearing about other peoples'' travels and seeing pics too............hint hint.

NEL, I''m so jealous... climbing in Yosemite. My dream!! DH and I haven''t climbed in several years and I *really* miss it. I''m afraid we''re getting too old now! LOL!!

Our plans:
4th of July week: Telluride, CO
Labor Day Weekend: Either Yosemite (hiking up Half Dome) or Mequon, WI for some lakeside R&R (but we''ll probably end up kayaking... DH can''t sit still!!)

When FI and I have time and money, we are going to the Ladera for a late honeymoon.

I am excited to see how many people are going to be in CO. I love it here. My FI and I have been all over the state but this summer we are going to takle as many 14ers as we can. (14ers are mountains 14,000+ feet above sea level and CO has more than any other state). I know we are doing Mt Evans for his birthday. We may also go to Trinidad, CO and Central City, CO.

We are going to take a fall trip, but we aren''t sure where. My BFF is a pilot for a tiny airlines, so wherever he can get us buddy passes, we will go.

Wow, Brazen! 14ers! Very cool! How many have you done?

We''re going to be hiking in Telluride and I think the highest we get is 13,500. That''s when I start feeling a little loopy. DH wants to do Mt Sneffels which is 14K and in the area, but I don''t think I''m in shape for that. Someday though.

Well I just got back from a girls trip to NYC and later in the summer I am going to Israel and Egypt with my dad!!!

I have the summer off and was contemplating Thailand but it never felt right. And then I thought of Israel...my dad is Jewish and has never been so I figured this was a great chance for a father daughter trip before I''m married off!
