I love hearing what people name their pets. I go the the Daily Puppy every day for a little pick me up in the morning. Recently, I saw the cutest dog and his name was Lunchbox. I thought that was so cute.

I''ll start...I have a 2 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback and his name is Hollis. We just liked the name - teenagers always ask us if it''s after Hollister as in the clothing chain.

My children

are named Charles, Olivia and Ophelia. Ophelia came with her name and it suits her so we kept it, but I always mix her and Olivia''s name up. (Oh, and they''re all cats!

We have two bunnies named Otto and Hannah. We picked Otto's name out first, and I thought Hannah was cute because it's also a palindrome (spelled the same forwards and back). DH says if we get a third it has to be Racecar

I prefer interesting human names for pets and I've recently had gerbils named Sebastian, Oliver, and Rory.

I know a woman with bunnies named Breakfast, Stir Fry, and What. lol

My pets are (in order of age, youngest to oldest, lol) - Bodhi, Ezra, Lola, and Grace. BF got to pick Bodhi''s name, Grace is a family dog, and the two kitties (Ezra and Lola) were picked from my bookshelves, lol!

My pups from before me and my husband were together are Tyson (Chi/Pug mix), and Raine (Jack Russell Terrier). They both live with us.

My husband (courtesy of his ex) had a Yorkie named Precious, who has since passed away; a Shih Tzu named Junior, who lives with us, and a Pit/Boxer mix named Tyson, who lives with my MIL.

Yep, strangely enough, we both had a dog named Tyson. Mine is about 13lbs, his is 50lbs; he refers to them as "Lil Tyson" and "Big Tyson".

Otter - Yellow English Lab (His full AKC name is Plays Well with Otters) - he came with the name

Mr. Fur - Siamese Cat

Squeaks - Moozer Cat (Cow markings)

2 cats named saffron and pepper and when we eventually get a dog we plan to name it basil or salty, depending on its color lol

eta: dh grew up with a little dog that his parents still have named lacey :) she's SPOILED!

We have Dewey and Trooper (cats). Trooper came with his name because my vet tech friend brought him home one day after recuperating from being hit by a truck when he was a few weeks old.

Having all kinds of surgeries that young made him a trooper. Mostly we just call him Little Poopsie though.

This is so ridiculously cute!

My cat is Alice named for Alice in Wonderland. I had her without a name for almost 2 weeks before I could decide!

DH''s dog is Ren. When DH adopted him, he was named Warren, and DH thought that was too much name for a dog, so decided to shorten it. People always think it is for Ren & Stimpy though.

We adopted a cat together named Simon. His name was already Simon when we adopted him, and we had originally planned to change it, but after living with him for a few days discovered he was such a Simon, we couldn''t change it.

Kizzy and Yaya look like they''re quite cooperative pooches!

I''m a big fan of people names for dogs too.

Friends of the family rescued a basset hound (who stinks to the high heavens, BTW) and she came with the name Oprah. It''s pretty hilarious to hear them shout Oprah at their dog!

Mine are all cats

they are named (from the oldest one) Mirò,Pochi and Nicodemo.
Mirò is my cat,I got him when I was still in high school;we now usually call him Mirottolo because he is a little fat

Pochi is my lovely, crazy blind kitty. He love his name, and when you call him by his name he always run;however,if I call him Pochino or Pochissimo (I love making up funny names
9.gif
) he get offended and don''t come.
Nicodemo name is Amazing Dreams Nicodemo Mokona,he is an huge chocolate tabby birman, and usually get called just Nico.

I don't currently have any pets living with me (moved across country, rental rules, etc)

My American tabby cat, who now lives with my mum, is Shelby. A boyfriend gave her to me when I was 16 and I named her with his encouragement after the Shelby Mustang car. She is old and has hyperthyroidism she takes meds for and is also deaf and blind and sleeps most of the day in my mums closet or suitcase but is still quite healthy and happy and she adores my mum.

My bunny, who was adopted to another home for various reasons last year, is Carbun (or Carbunny). He is a gray Netherland Dwarf, and I named him after carbon fibre - due to my biking obsession at the time. I still keep in touch with his new owners - he is very happy as he has lots of bunny, cat, and dog siblings now. He's a cutie...and a TOTAL brat too.

I had a Siamese cat named Blue when I was very young, for her eyes. She was somewhat psychotic and had to be given away when my brother was born.

I have also owned various weird pets - hermit crabs Kriss and Kross (I was 12 or 13), snakes with all various of names (Snakey, Slither, Rocky, etc). I also had a pony named Pretty Boy. Then a lot of pets that were not officially mine, but my dad's (who I did not live with) - Cisco the crazy dog who liked cheese slices, etc....my other siblings I lived with pets - my sister's gerbils Hershey, Cadbury and Fudge, my brother's hamster Missy, etc, my sister's cat Mambo (after the dance), my parents cat Minou who died last year, etc.

It will likely be a while before we have a pet. DH would like a dog eventually, but we want some more space (outdoor space) for one even though we don't want a massive one (my brother and his partner have a massive Great Dane named Chiron who is adorable and gentle but way too big for us). I would not mind a cat again, however, to be honest, I am admittedly kind of enjoying the ease of not having to clean up or care after pets right now! I don't like having cat/dog hair and so on around...

This is our Chocolate Lab Muddy when he was a puppy.
He''s not the smartest, but he makes up for it in cuteness.
He gets into all sorts of trouble, but he''s the best cuddler.
When I tell the kids it''s time for bed,he is the first one up the stairs.

Great names, Asu and BEAUTIFUL avatar!

I have a Black Lab named Suzy.

We have a 3 year old tortoiseshell named Reeses (like the candy) and we recently adopted a two week old black kitten we named Arthur. I wanted D''Artagnan, but no such luck. My husband thought the name was more fitting for a dog of a certain nature/size.

puppmom--I really love the name Hollis.

Our dog is named Bailee. She came with the name, and while I think it suits her now, we groaned a bit when we first heard it because my best friend has a dog named Bailey. People ask us if we gave them the same names on purpose. Um, no.

Our cats are Vince, Manny, and Geddy. We thought for a while on naming each of them, and we just finally settled on the names that we believe suit them best. Geddy took us the longest time to name. DH loves Rush so he wanted to name one of the cats Geddy, but I wasn''t that into it. We almost named him Vern, which would have suited him as well as Geddy does. And I think that''s just a funny name. Vern. Hee hee.

We call Bailee "Tippy" about half of the time, too. She answers to both names now. It evolved from my calling her the "Tip Tap Dancer" because she sounds like she''s tap dancing all over the house all the time. Her claws and our wood floors make for a noisy day. We call the boys "Vincey Vincenzo" "Manny Manifesto" and "Geddy Spaghetti." Not too creative, I know, but it just happened.

I named my mom''s dogs, Killian and Tallulah. Tallulah is 12 years old, so I had just graduated high school when we adopted her, and I was going through a Tallulah Bankhead phase. Killian is seven years old, so I was recently out of college when we adopted her, and I was going through a beer phase.

Their nicknames are "Luli" or "Lupita" or one of ten others, and "Killy Bear."

Black boy - Garet
Tortie girl - Greta (we got Garet and Greta from the shelter as kittens, they were the last of the litter)
Tabby girl - Mina (ex-feral and our most intelligent cat, by a lot
3.gif
)

They have their own "area" - it's a closet and part of the walkway, there's an old futon and a couple of chairs in there (was originally stuff to be tossed but they seem to love it and it's out of the way so... I somehow always wind up working on the desk there whenever I'm home, despite perfectly good cat-hair free furniture elsewhere

Reeses when she was about 11 weeks old. She was *tiny* when we got her at 8 weeks. she was the runt of the litter. She''s 7 lbs at 3 years now. Haven''t uploaded the ones of Arthur yet.

Their mom was Shi-Tzu.
Their dad was a Chihuahua, a no-good drifter roaming from town to town with a bottle of tequila and a way with the ladies.

Sorry, I know I post too many pics of them, but if you want me to stop you''ll have to kill me.

Aaawww,thank you!!

My dog''s name is Daisy Mae. I used to be way more creative with names...in grade school I had 3 guinea pigs, named Flopsy, Mopsy, and Itzio Pinza. (Guinea pigs are similar to rabbits, and they like to "sing.")

Watch out for those runts! Mine was a runt too....and then was 20lbs most of her life despite not being a big eater and being reasonably active (then she got hyperthyroidism and is now skinny!).
