I am just curious as to what you all buy at Costco and why? Despite the HUGE size of goods they sell, they seem to be very popular here in southern California.

So what do you love from Costco?

Dried mango in the bag!! And their frozen yogurt in the cafe area is sooo yummy! And although it isnt food- their gas prices rock! It is the only place I will get my gas from around here

I think there was a thread on this before?

Here are some of our favorites: toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, soap, baby diapers (soon), clothes, riceworks crisps, soy milk, salad, juice, chicken, eggs, cereal, cheese (if I need a large quantity), 540TC bed sheets, other household items.

We love Costco!

Their fallafels! (sp?) So good!!!

I was just eating Costco dried mangoes -- love them! The chicken salad with grapes and walnuts is sooo good. Other favs include dried apricots, nuts, cereal, razor blades, wine.

Costco is the best for parties! I love all their dips/spreads/canapes. Their mango salsa is soooooo yummy. They also tend to have great fresh fruit and veggies. Oh, and we LOVE stocking up on their filet mignon for freezing.

For non-food items, they have great prices on appliances and electronics, and also sunglasses!

There was a thread a while back. . .

Over the last six months, I''ve barely shopped there, but I still get my prescriptions filled, buy the double pack of cetaphil, and also baby wipes.

i have no idea why, and i am almost ashamed to say this, but they have the BEST tzatziki that i''ve ever tasted.

Paper products. Bottled Water.

But the more exciting stuff:
Their rotiserie chickens!
The rotiserie chicken salad
Trumpet Mushrooms.
Proscutto from Parma in 1 pound packages
Books, Magazines
Wine, champagne (they always have White Star, which is nice to keep around the house).
Things I love but do not buy: Brownie Bites

Food: Kirkland brand 1% organic milk (3 cartons in a pack), Purdue Bourbon Chicken (perfect for the nights we don''t have time to cook -- my girls love this!), wine, various snack packs for preschool, rotisserie chicken
Paper products: paper towels, napkins, kleenex, trash bags, paper plates, Charmin
Toiletries: Lubriderm lotion, Cetaphil lotion, vitamins, calcium tablets, razor blades, Clorox wipes, Lysol all-purpose liquid
Other: recently scored some Lilly Pulitzer dresses for the girls

Rotisserie chicken keeps on showing up! Is there really a difference in quality of rotisserie chicken across different grocery stores? Are they not roasted the same way?

Durable, comfortable dog bed, great women''s tank tops (French Connection is the brand name I think), Vitarain and two discounted movie tix.
I love Costco.

For me personally, it''s because they are so cheap and it saves me time when a recipe calls for cooked chicken.

Big jar of pickles!

We also regularly buy cheese, boca burgers, crackers, pasta, chicken thighs, and fish from Costco. Love it!

me too. plus, they are not only cheaper than my local grocery store chicken they are quite a bit bigger.

$1.50 hotdog and soda.

Yes, Sharon Canukgirl started a Costco thread!

I BIG PUFFY HEART LOVE COSTCO!!! I love, their fresh food, frozen fish, eggs, cheese, party trays (for party's), books (super cheap), I buy lots of things there, teak outdoor patio set, hose reel, advil, vitamins, fiber one bars, veggies, toilet paper. I am there 2 x a month at least. I love their chickens and so much more. hehe

I love their meat and fish and all kinds of interesting party foods.

I get great deals on eyeglasses for the kids there.

I just ordered a laptop from them this morning. This is the second computer I have bought from them. I priced out the same configuration on Dell''s website, and Costco was $250.00 less.

I absolutely love their rugelach!

The SAMPLES!!!!

Admit it...you love the samples.

And watch out for the dried mango. I gained 20 lbs eating those things while I was not working. It took me forever to lose that weight. I refuse to eat them now. They are good though.

They are, but to me, don''t even remotely taste the same. They''re bigger too, the ones at Albertson''s that I''ve bought in the past are smaller.
I have proof postive of the rotisserie chicken value. I used to like the lemon chicken at Vons and one day my daughter wanted to play the old game of making a wish on the wishbone and breaking it, so I saved the wishbone on the counter. I sort of forgot about it and then bought a Costco chicken because I love them and I know almost all there is to know about Costco and their food safety standards so I trust them. I decided to check the size of the wishbone against the dried one I had from Vons.....OMG...seriously!! The chickens were the same price, but the Costco chicken was like Hulk compared to the Vons chicken. I could never buy a Vons chicken again after that.

I know, they are sooooooooooooooooo good.

We love everything about Costco. We buy all of our chicken there, beef, TP, paper towels, sheets, dish soap, laundry soap, etc. Just about everything.

We go in with a list and end up buying things that aren''t even on our list.

You are not kidding! We''ll have "milk" and "toilet paper" on our list and $200+ later, we''re waltzing out with a cart full of stuff! We''ve learned the hard way that if you don''t buy something when you see it, it may not be there the next time you go!

Mom2,

That is exactly what my husband says, LOL LOL.

At some point, my kids started saying "oh no - mom''s got the costco fever" whenever we would go there. I can''t believe how much I can spend there!

I always say that they have all of the things that I didn''t even know that I needed. We belong to BJ''s too, but somehow it is not the same!

ME EITHER!!!!! It is crazy, the costco people talked us into the Executive memebership a few years back ago because it pays for itself and some.

No one has mentioned flowers yet. Costco have awesome flowers, they seem to last longer than other regular grocery store brands.

Other than that we buy
Trash bags
Paper Towels, Bounty
TP
Cascade
Dixie cups
Toothpaste

Their filet mignion is amazing.

I don''t go down the aisles that have over sized Mayo, it freaks me out!!!
32.gif

LOL, Lisa that is large Mayo isn''t it. I only buy those huge containers if we are having a large BBQ and I am making potato and macaroni salads. YES, their filet mignon is soooooooooo yummmmy. In fact all their meat is.

I am going to have to buy these fillet mignon the next time I go. I buy the rotisserie chicken, the tortilla wrap sandwiches w/raspberry cream cheese are delicious, and same with the chicken salad croissants. I buy chicken breasts, shrimp, cod and veggie lasagna and steaks occasionally if we have family over because we can''t eat all those steaks otherwise.

OMG We LOVE those tortilla wrap sandwiches. We bring those camping. They don''t last long. In fact, I order a huge tray, when our friends go with us.
