So yesterday we went to Palmerston north to visit the hospital for Gary's annual sarcadosis check (he is doing ok)
I was @Lisa Loves Shiny 's twin in my blue FW baroques with my pink FW studs from the mall
i like the soft pink with the subtlety of the blue necklase
And i dyed all the grey out the other day !

Beautiful! I love this look. Glamorous but youthful. This is how you get other people to want pearls.

Ohhhh Thank you for the youthful =)2

I really want to wear the peach/apricot strand but i feel it needs a white shirt and a dressier occasion

My long pearl strand. I wear it as double strand today.

I love this for classically youthful

In the summer I like wearing my jadeite bangle so my pearl bracelets are likely not going to be worn again until sweater weather. However I wanted to continue my experiment wearing the baby pearls 24/7. So far since February they’ve held up well despite saunas, gyms and showers. So I added some gold beads and made an anklet so I can keep wearing it without it constantly banging against the jade bangle.

I love the idea of a pearl anklet
Its so summer !
I bet they enjoy the sauna !

We dont get snow here but we can get 4 seasons in one day any day of the year so i don't see pearls (or jerseys - sweaters) for that matter as being just winter wear)
Ok its true i hate winter clothes, i hate sleeves, i hate long pants, i hate coats and jackets and i hate having to layer*

But i do love pearls

The jade braclete is lovelly
Have you tried pairing it with ny absolute favourite MOP brooch on the long station necklase?

*so i am cold a lot of the time

The pendant was custom made for the diamond which is a fancy gray diamond from James Allen :)

I think we should possibly have a pearl version of shop your jewlery box !

This is my pink FW baroque multi strand from the mall jewler
i bought it before i knew what baroque pearls were
for a time they had a nice but modest collection of (mall quality) FW items behind the counter in a glass cabinet about the size of a bathroom shaving cabinet
it was eye level when a customer waited at the till
My enthusiasm encouraged the sales lady to buy and start wearing a pearl braclete !
The quality might not be PS quality but i think a love for pearls can still be fostered down the mall (its just too bad mall jewlery including pearls are so over priced here)

Anyway i don't even like pink! But i just feel in love with these
They just felt young and fun and summery

i have recently started wearing the matching studs but i always thought even with the chain extender the necklase was was too tight so its sat unwarn on my to do list

But after i bought the carnival strand recently - i learnt from that - i just forget which one of you lovelly pearl princess assured me it would stretch out a bit and loosen up around my neck and it did !
So im now pretty sure this will too
i don't really like the clicking noise as the strands rub together but ill learn to ignore that

last night is the first time ive worn it and its been on ever since
The one pink strand is more pink than it looks

I wish it was socially acceptable for men to wear pearl jewelry; I'm in love with these pieces! @Daisys and Diamonds the stacking with the different sizes and shapes is so fun and yes, summery!

Why not set about making it socially acceptable for you (although I’d argue it shouldn’t matter anyway)? Have you seen some of the recent Miki ads with pearls on men? Have a look at their Insta for some inspo!

Its a start!

Sometimes its just having the confidence to wear something
Eaiser said that done for a lot of us
Have fun looking for a style you would like to wear
start a thread !
Some of the trade members will have sold pearls for men I'm sure
How about a braclete
i mean what's the difference between surfer beads and pearls?

Bit of a disaster
Well a disaster is an over reaction
Just disappointing
I did wear it in the shower (once) and i did sleep in it twice but it broke today at work as i was mopping the floor just before we closed
its hardly hard yacka just basically a bit of easy house work (but at work)

Im not sure what to do
im not really ready to send a whole bunch of stuff to the pearl restringer
Maybe i should buy some of the stuff and try my hand at knotting for practice
I found the first pearl - it feel on the floor when i changed my shirt
Bur im kind of a bit grumpy it didn't last at least intil it got saggy and needed restringing

Oh no!! Glad you found the first pearl!!

You could totally restring this yourself though!! But either way - whether you do it yourself or have someone else do it - knotting between each pearl will ensure you never lose more than one!

@Lisa Loves Shiny i really wanted to wear the flapper strand but i had 5 minutes and still had to find my shoes, i had 4 goes trying to get a 4 strand look but i was just rushing :lol-2: and everything was lopsided

Got mum's earings in (3 minutes)
Then grabbed the baroque blues and i was out the door with my brolly

Now im home from work i got 20210614_191057.jpg my best oldest singy on

Silver Akoya from Takahashi. These were bought last December, but I was slow at learning to knot and I’ve only just assembled the bracelet! Speed is not a skill I possess. Procrastination, on the other hand, I have in bucketfuls…

I had originally wanted non-baroque blue Akoya, but they turned out to be as rare as hen’s teeth and I’m really pleased to be honest - the silver of these is a really lovely neutral. And Takahashi value is the best!
