IYO, what are the odds Trump will do or say something that will get him impeached and removed from office?

Part of me hopes he will be impeached, and part of me is more scared of Pence, Pence is anti everything I believe in, Trump isn't anti anything per se, just PRO TRUMP.. whatever enriches him, whatever way the wind blows, he's for that.. So far most of Trumps picks for his cabinet are really rich guys (white guys).. he's added his SIL to the White House... the guy will probably say or do something that causes huge problems (war, whatever).. he can't fulfill his promises.. unless he raises taxes.. I wonder if people who voted him in know that his idea of 'infrastructure building' is toll roads, private toll roads like I had in Austin, toll roads that were shoddily built and many many people didn't use, too expensive and people don't like the idea of paying a private toll (sorry libertarians)...

I doubt that he'll be impeached. He won and the Republican party can't duplicate that without him. Republicans have the majority so they are the ones who would have to impeach them. Anyone impeaching him would be pretty well guaranteed to lose their primary when they come up again - and if they were in a competitive district, if they somehow scraped through the primary they'd probably lose the general. Republicans have shown time and again that most of them value consolidating their own power over doing what's right (for instance, see the North Carolina governorship issue, with the legislature removing much of the governor's power because a Democrat won).

Do I believe he is both NPD and has all the classic hallmarks of an abuser? Yes. Do I think he is horrible for our country and we'll be lucky if we don't get into WWIII? Yes. Do I think there's any chance he'll be removed from office? Hah. Hahahha. HAhahahhaha! Anyone who thinks that's a possibility has not been paying enough attention.

There is no healthy way of interacting with someone with this affliction. If you criticize them they will lash out at you and if they have a great deal of power, that can be consequential. If you compliment them it only acts to increase the delusional and grandiose reality the sufferer has created, causing him to be even more reliant on constant and endless compliments and unwavering support.

Yep. The only way to interact with someone with NPD is to... not do so. At all. Unfortunately nearly half the voters of this country removed that option from us, so now we're all screwed.

Granted the Rs also have Congress and they do circle the wagons.
But many Rs despise Trump too, and impeaching him would not cost them the White House.
While Pence is scary I'll bet the majority of Rs would rather have him than Trump in the Oval Office.

I'm sure many Republicans would see firing Trump as circling the wagons to protect what they feel their party should stand for.

Yesterday he had meetings with two defense contractors, Lockheed Martin and Boeing. He was so impressed with these two that when Putin issued his statement the pissing contest was on.(sorry for being so vulgar) I don't think it has to do with money right now, only ego and spouting off without thinking. At the time I thought he'd be impeached within three years.

At this time, I'm not so sure. Congress is in Republican hands, and the Republicans seem very willing to turn a blind eye to the guy behind the curtain.

If normal trends were to hold, the country would be fed up with the shenanigans by the mid-terms, and there would be a bit of a Democratic resurgence. But we don't seem to be in normal times anymore.

BTW I'm not sure Pence would prove to be a "poison pill." Normally, yes - but again, it appears Trump is throwing normality out the window. He might make even "bad but predictable" look attractive.

I 100% agree with the bolded, VR! Someone like Pence (who is against so many things that are important to me) would usually be a nightmare scenario, but somehow Trump makes him look less awful. Likely because when it comes down to it I think that "against everything I believe but predictable and unlikely to send us into WWIII" sounds much better than, "against everything I believe AND TOTALLY BATSHIT INSANE". I'd rather be able to predict a POTUS's agenda rather than being completely unsure about WTF is going to happen and what he might say or do next.
