i tried to run a search on the terminology but couldn''t find a clear-cut answer. basically, i hear people describe their melees as 2 pointers, etc. and i just want to fully understand and visualize what they are saying. this way, i can be just as excited and in the know in the SMTR forum!

thanks.

This is the technical term for the people here on Pricescope who will take a set of shopping specifications that you’re looking for and will point you towards a particular stone. A 25 pointer would be a stone that’s highly recommended by lots of people.

Oh yeah, also what Ellen said.

LOL. you guys are silly.

A pointer is a .01carat weight diamond. This is about 1.3mm in diameter for a round stone. 2 pointers are about 1.7mm diameter. a quater carat diamond is sometimes called a 25 pointer and is about 4mm in diameter.
