What are August Vintage Rounds?

I have been trying to figure this out forever on GOG's website. Maybe I am blind but I can't seem to find a straight answer. Are they their best RB diamonds or are August Vintage's a brand name like Solasfera?

When PS'ers compare ACA's, BGD Signature, etc. to GOG, which are they referring to? When searching for diamonds on their site, do I want to look for "hearts and arrows rounds"?

GOG Superior (hearts and arrows) stones are the ones to compare to WF ACA or BG Signature. Their premium stones do not meet hearts and arrows standards, and would be considered more comparable to WF Expert Selection and Premium Select.

GOG AVR's (August Vintage Rounds) are old STYLE cuts that are similar to the cut of antique Old European to transitional cut stones. They are cut for ideal light performance but have larger facet patterns similar to antique stones.

Perfect thank you! It seems like PS'ers would put them up against either of those brands? Safe to say? Do they tend to be similarly?

I have owned both GOG Superior and Premium stones as well as WhiteFlash ACA (and my daughter has a WF premium select), and I can tell you honestly that stones from both are equally outstanding! I have bought from whichever one had the stone I needed at the time.

GOG BGD and WF and Infinity all have some of the best hearts and arrows diamonds in their signature or top lines. Gorgeous stones and comparable to each other in performance.

August Vintage rounds are unique. They have ideal light performance but a lovely european diamond based faceting that looks like a flower or a snowflake. I prefer these to standard round brilliants, but it's a personal and subjective not objective.

Also you don't need the patterning of perfect hearts and arrows to get a great stone. You can get a stone with ideal light performance without the patterning of perfect hearts and arrows. Depending on your budget and desires a 'near' hearts and arrows stone with ideal light performance would be a great investment.

What is your budget, and what you do you want for it in terms of diamond size, settings, color and clarity.

My budget is $11-13k for the loose diamond. I am hoping to get super ideal cut (H&A). I would prefer to prioritize cut over anything else. I am looking at Infinity, BGD, and WF but have yet to really give GOG a look. Not sure why.

So far WF is the only vendor with what I am looking for in stock.

VS2 (considering SI1)

I am going to agree that WF has a nice G VS2 in your size and budget at the moment. You might want to reserve it if that is really what you want since most of the other stones available are lower clarity. There are some H VS2 possibilities if you want to drop a color grade.
