OK...I''m learning. (Little by little)

What I am confused about with the attached picture is that I''m not seeing hearts, I''m not seeing arrows and I''m not seeing that nice pink color that''s supposed to make me happy.

Am I looking for these things in the wrong place? Or am I looking to buy the wrong diamond?

Also, if I''m struggling over buying this .89 g vs1 1.7 on the HCA or a .93 H vs1 1.4 on the HCA for $800 more, how much of a difference would I even see for my extra money?

You guys are the best...and I really appreciate your advice!

In case you were wondering, here is the image for the .93 diamond.

I am curious--what type of imaging software or instrument was used to generate these photos? I have never seen it before on PS, so maybe that might explain why no one has addressed your questions. I can see the arrows on the diamonds though.

It comes from the GCAL grading reports. BN displays it for their Signature Ideal Round cuts. Of course, both of the diamonds have been purchased since I posted the original, but that''s OK. I''d like to know more about what this is showing me if any one can offer some advice.

the reports you are looking at are specifically to show optical symmetry. you''ll need a picture through a hearts & arrows viewer to see the h&a''s and the pink/red you are supposed to look for is through an idealscope/lightscope. the later will show you light leakage. there are many instruments used to evaluate diamonds you are only seeing one.
