My brother is now ready to start looking at stones. Size wise he''s looking at .80 to 1.0 ct, probably either I or J, SI-1, or SI-2 (eye clean of course) & H&A. So I offered to help him get started. Boy there really arent a lot of stones in that size range. He''s patient, & will wait. I''m a different story.

The ring is from Firenze...I dont know the style #, but its $1290 platinum with .37 diamonds. I guessed 2 x .08, 2 x .06 & 2 x .04 to equal 36 or so. Its not big & I think its something like 2.2mm. Would make the stone look huge & would eliminate those pesky scratches on the top part of the shank.

So...what do you think? He likes the fine lines & the sleek lines from WF, he likes the Royal Crown & a new one from them which I think Miss Darline Joy has? Not sure, but its reasonalby priced.

Sooooo.....would be great if someone hasd this ring on the hand wouldnt it? LOL

these are pretty ccu...i love the vatche royal crown though. swoonable!!! i also love the fine line and sleek lines for solitaires as well. he should check out the ritani one i love, it's at local BB&B's only. i'm all into simplicity now but i do like this setting but i wouldn't want the side stones to deflect from the main star though!

I like the Royal Crown too. Funny that I started looking for my ering in the summer of 2002, got engaged Feb.of ''03 & STILL have loved that Royal Crown. LOL We must just be 2 stubborn hens.

I like that Ritani, but he doesnt want to go that high, I think its somewhere around $1500 for the setting. This one from Firenze, I reread the add, is 2mm at the largest width of the ring. Really really skinny. But I think the new Vatche with the 4 prong basket is that way too. He''ll probably end up with the sleek lines, which is very reasonable at $658 for platinum. WF has good prices.

(as a side note, Mara, did you get the pics of Virg''s ring?) David says the side of this Firenze ring looks like braces. LOL Might be more delicate in person. Heck if its 2mm at the widest point, cant be that chunkie!

I know there have been some good threads lately regarding solitaires so I''ll checkt them out.

Angel, I think its Diamondseeker that has started a thread lately about solitaires. She has pics there of what the Ritani looks like, its really lovely.
