I have just purchased a 1.86 ct Radiant Cut with as close to "ideal" parameters as I could find...the diamond is gorgeous, but the color is "G" and the clarity is "SI1" with no inclusion very well seen even with a 10x Loop. Has anyone found that radiant diamonds can sparkle and shine with a "G" color.....as I had my diamond right next to an "E", "F" and "G" Princess Cuts and Brilliant Rounds and mine seemed to sparkle and look the best...even the brightest....is this unique to Radiant Cuts? Here are the specs:

1.86 ct Center Radiant Cut G SI1 with 0.62 ct Radiant Cuts "G" on each side for total weight of 3.10 ct in a platinum setting.

Dimensions: 7.37 x 6.44 x 4.63
Depth: 71.9%
Crown: 12.70%
Pavillion: 52.20%
Table%: 65.00%

Girdle: Medium to Thick
Cutlet: None

Polish: Good
Symmetry: Good
Flourescence: None

PS: By the way...price was $18900 all together....I think I may have paid just a little too much...but having the stone in front of you may be worth it...depending on just how much more I paid....let me know what you think of the price....$12000 for Center....$6900 for Setting and Side Stones

G color is great but it is the cut the really makes the sparkle. Ultimately if you think the stone had great visual appeal then that is all that really counts!!!

We just got a 1.32 c radiant cut - G, SI1. The sparkle is unbelievable and the stone looks as white as can be. I think this is unique to radiant cuts. It sparkled way more than the princess cut e-ring I originally had. It sounds like you made a good choice! As for the price of the radiant stone, it sounds a little bit high, but it might be in the ball park. There's a 1.71 on blue nile for $9400...

Everything sounds awesome, except the price. I hope those were very nice side-stones too

However, if these came form a local shop and the make of the ring in flawless, this would not be out of line. Your description of the center stone sounds very promissing. How about the ring ? This one should be quite impressive

Thanks Valeria101,

Yes the ring is beyond flawless....it is customed designed for that very center stone...by proportion and size and the side stones were custom designed and cut to match the center stone just about exactly...the ring is gorgeous....I just did not want to pay way over what I should be paying....The ring was purchased here in the suburbs of philadelphia at a VERY reputable jeweler....Jack Kellmer....who has a reputation for only selling the very best cuts. So I do not mind paying a little more...I get trade-in value of center stone guarunteed for life of the stone and top-notch service. I hope I am not paying 3000-4000 more though?

Well, the trade-in value is actually guranteed for th elife of the business you bought it from - so long life to them

I do not think you are ovepaying all that much. The manufacturing of the setting would get about 3000 plus the side stones - if what I immagine about it tallies with reality. The center is not a bargain, but it could well be the the next best stone is a branded radiant (probably even more expensive) if the stone looks thta good. I would not feel bad about the cost, at this point - the project is almost there, as far as you say. They kind' of rounded up here and there.

Do you know the clarity on the sides?
