Last week, I had a bizarre mini-breakdown over wedding details and arguing with my mother - the immediate cause of which was my ordering of a cupcake cake instead of a more traditional wedding cake. . .
We had gone to tasting with the bakery that was included with our venue package, but were just not impressed. The physical building itself was dilapidated and the woman we spoke to was just not very helpful - plus their baked goods were definitely underwhelming. We ordered cupcakes because that''s what we really wanted - even though even the cupcakes weren''t great.
So my mom wasn''t happy and we weren''t happy - no good. I came up with the idea that FI and I would order OUR cupcake cake from a bakery we liked better and my mom could pick whatever she wants from the other one. I spent this week finding out our options and we went this morning and spoke with the nicest cupcake lady EVER! Ideally we will have our cake and that''s it and just cancel the other one, but when I see my mom I''ll give her the option of choosing she wants since it''s included anyway. . .
Secondly, we''ve had the worst time planning our honeymoon - we spoke to a travel agent who didn''t present us with many options and wasn''t really listening to what we wanted. PLUS, FI was having difficulty getting the time off from school okayed. His approval came through this week and as we walked out of the bakery, we passed by a travel agency - we went in and met with a woman who paid attention to what we were asking for and booked us a trip! YAY! We''re even able to add honeymoon items to our registry. . .
Just wanted to post so I''m not ALWAYS being negative! MUCH happier this week!
