Number 2 is at my limits for depth, but I would still pick this one over number 1 if I had to pick purely from the numbers. We would need an IS image to confirm though.

ETA I guess I should add that I don't like the table size for #1 and it's very close to a 60 60 stone. If you do a quick search you can find out all about these. Some prefer this look, but I would prefer a stone with a better balance of fire and brilliance. A 60 60 stone will have less fire.

is # 1 too shallow?

No. Diamond 1 scores 1.1 on the Holloway Cut Advisor, with Excellents in all categories. It is definitely not shallow. It has every possibiity of being a stunner. It is a 60/60 style cut, rather than an ideal cut, but nothing wrong with that at all. Be sure that this SI2 does not have visible inclusions from the side, if that might bother you. Generally eye-clean just refers to the top down view.

ETA: And, I should probably add that I own a 60/60 style diamond.

The table is slightly large for my taste on number 1. If you drop down in color to the G/H range you can save money and afford a really well-cut stone. The G/H range is still very white.

I would take number one... Both are SI grade and if you know the SI2 is "very eye clean" then I would take it. Also, number two is a deep one, which I think will cause more hurt to the stone than the table being a tad too large. If they are in the same price range, I would definitely take the better colored stone, number one. None of these numbers show the symmetry, and I definitely agree that you should see the Ideal-Scope for them before purchase. I wouldn't buy any stone of the size/price range without seeing the IS results first....

Actually the depth on the second diamond is fine, that is the one I would pick, are you thinking of changing your diamond SG?

E is not really "better" than F colour - in well cut stones most people will not be able to tell the difference between an E or a G, and E/F will look the same.
Colour would be the last thing I would base my decision on with an ideal cut stone, just personally. Cut, clarity, colour ..
Would definately need all the other measurements etc, but I agree with Honey etc on the proportions of 1, so then so far 2 would have my vote.

I second Kcoursolle''s advice and consider moving to the G/H colour range and improve your cut prospects - or maybe even size

$5000 is a huge price difference, I would have to see them in person to decide if the visual appearance is worth that many dollars less or more to me. If the stones are both eye clean (and having the color and clarities only one step away from each other), the cut, table, angles, and depth is going to be where you see any difference.

yes its true 5000 dollars is not worth it at he moment to me but in a a few years or so i will plan on upgrading to a bigger and better diamond all around for now this diamond is good for me here are some pics of it
