For some I know WFH is your new routine and for others who may be going into the office I know your routine has probably changed as well. For others who are retired or unemployed how has your daily routine changed?

I think for many, if not most, at least in some way, the daily routine has been altered.

What is your day like? Do you have/keep to a schedule or is it more free flowing?

I thrive on routine. I like the comfort of knowing my day and having things I enjoy engaging in and things I like accomplishing. Especially now. During the pandemic.

My routine is fairly consistent changing only with medical appointments and things like that.

Wake up
Feed cats
Have coffee and breakfast in bed with my dh.
Check out PS

Vacuum house
Work out
Chat on phone with friends during warm up and cool down

Shower quickly
Go cycling or walking/hiking depending on weather

Back home
Feed kitties
Shower again and wash hair (every other day I wash my hair)
Chat on phone with friends, Read, Play with kitties
Prepare dinner

Watch HGTV, movie with DH
Feed kitties
Go to bed

Once a week we go food shopping now. Before Covid we went more often.

That’s my boring pandemic routine. I like boring.
What’s your routine?

My routine hasn't changed as I have always run my business from home.I groom dogs in a purpose built salon at the back of our house. My routine is get up, feed dog then horses, donkeys & pet sheep.Have my breakfast, sit on computer for 10 minutes then start work.
I work all day then grab a snack & go out & fill haynets & feed buckets while my DH mucks out the stables. We take it in turns to cook evening meal which we eat around 7.30pm The rest of the evening is spent chilling on the sofa with DH usually watching something on Netflix

Weekdays:
Get up at 5:30 or 6
drink chai, check PS, shower/dress , go to work
Drive about 50 miles a day for the company
Come home
Eat dinner, check PS, surf internet while watching TV
Go to bed

Weekends:
Get up about 6 am
drink chai, check PS, shower/dress
No plans! Do whatever....play with jewelry, light chores, cook, etc.
Go to bed

That is so cool. I love that you and your DH work together as a team. And yes to chilling on the sofa watching netflix in the evenings. Same.

You do so much driving @stracci2000. I see why your car is critical. I can also see why you would want weekends free of plans and be spontaneous.

I see why your car is critical

Seriously, Missy! It is not a company car, it is my own car. I put about 800-1000 miles a month on it.
I do get reimbursed for gas and also a monthly car allowance that is supposed to cover repairs, tires, insurance, etc. It does--- just barely.
So when the car starts acting up, I get nervous!

During the week:

Alarm goes off at 7:20, read news, check out PS and IG until 7:40

Wake up older son by 7:40 for distance learning, make breakfast for me and younger son. Both our kids are distance learning.

First Zoom meeting at 9:15, work on assignments online with younger son and do Zoom meetings until 3:00. Try to do dishes/start dinner in between. Have lunch around 12:00.

Kids get to game at 3:00, down time for me until DH gets home usually 4:30 or 5:00, finish dinner

6:00-8:00 eat dinner, play games with the kids, both kids get showers, read stories to the little one.

8:00-11:30 Hang out with DH, watch tv finish up any cleaning and in bed by 11:45pm

Weekends are a hodgepodge but usually grocery shopping on Sunday, otherwise it’s pretty open and we just come up with things as we go.

Weekdays:
7.00am Alarm. Wake girls up.
7.30am Make breakfast whilst unloading dishwasher & grabbing mouthfuls of my own breakfast.

10.15am Coffee. Gloriois coffee! Then housework, hoover, sort washing.
11.45am Leave for work.

2.45pm Leave to collect DD2 at 3pm then DD1 at 3.15pm.
3.30pm Home, un-pack school bags, re-pack, make packed lunches for next day.

On weekdays, I usually I wake up around 8 and check my work emails, then go to the barn to ride or go running (ride 4-5 days a week, run the others). Come home, have lunch with my husband, and work until about 5pm. Go for a walk or a hike. Have dinner, play piano, watch tv, read.

It's nice, but I can't wait to be able to do something else.

I’m up by 5:30, take the dogs out to potty, have coffee, start work at 6 (I work at home). I take a lunch at 11 and use that time to clean the house a little, go to the post office if I need to, take the dogs out again to potty, and then feed the pets lunch. I finish work at 4:30. I take the dogs out again, do more cleaning, and start dinner so it’s ready by the time my husband comes home. I work 4 days/ week now. So this is my schedule on workdays. On my day off without my husband I usually clean, run errands, take care of chores so my husband doesn’t have much to do. He’s usually out the door by 5 am and doesn’t get home til 5:30-6ish (although sometimes as late as 7:30-8 and one time it was past 9). He also usually starts working again after dinner and sometimes on the weekends, so I try to make sure he has as little to worry about around the house as possible.
