Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. First off, thank you to everyone for all the education I have received just by reading through previous posts.

I'm in the market for a 1.25-1.5 carat princess cut, budget of $11k. I've seen whiteflash recommended on here a lot, and have been looking at their stones.

I think I've found one that I really like, but what do you guys think? I don't have a chance to see it in person so I'm kind of hesitant. Also, it looks less bright than some of the other stones on the website and I'm wondering if it's because of the camera or if it's the stone. The picture shows up if you click "enlarge" under where the pic should be. Also, the table looks pretty small. How does that affect the look?

Don''t mean to compete with OP about the stone or threadjacking. WOuld you please explain why this particular GOG signature stone is better than the WF ACA princess? Do you find the ASET image better for the GOG?

Stone-Cold,

Can you please tell me what you aren''t a fan of in the ACA? Is it the same things I mentioned, or something in the ASET or Idealscope?

Are there any others in the ACA class that you would recommend? Even the couple out of my range?

I don't mind the small table, but the pattern and light return seems to be a little off for all the images, so unlikely to be due to image taking setup, and that is bugging me. I prefer a more symm pattern.

I prefer less leakage under the table which the ACA ASET seems to be saying otherwise. Remember the background is black in the ASET for WF instead of white for GOG.

What color / clarity specs are you looking at?

The images appear to be showing an area of leakage in the WF ACA which they don't usually - both in ASET and Idealscope, I will try to find out more. Meanwhile you could ask WF about the image, point out the leakage as it is distinct on both ASET and IS, see what they say. Now to put this into perspective, the table size is fine and it is still a great diamond - it looks beautiful in the photo, just that the leakage shown is unusual in this brand. No reason to not consider it but I would want to speak to WF about the leakage first and see what they say.

Actually, I think that ACA looks really nice! Lots of the GOG signature princesses have small tables like the ACA does. Either way, I''m really not seeing a whole lot of additional leakage, and I love the way the stone looks in the picture. I wonder if WF is changing their ACA cutting style...? I''ve seen a few of these "newer" looking ACAs lately; mine is a very different look with a 68% table, more representative of what they used to look like.

First off - WOW you guys are fast!

Stone-cold: Thanks for the recommendations. I''m looking into them.

Lorelei and jstarfireb: It''s funny that you guys like the picture so much when it was what originally turned me off. Is there something I''m missing? Am I nitpicking too much at a stone that is 95% amazing?

I was looking around at older posts and found this stone which someone else got which seems to look really nice. It was what I was basing my "the photo looks dark" comment on. http://www.whiteflash.com/aca_princess/A-Cut-Above-Princess-cut-diamond-78232.htm

It to me looks like a lovely Princess and I don't want you to automatically write it off if you like it because the images aren't ' perfect' - lets see what WF has to say, they know of the situation. If you don't like this diamond then thats fine but if you do I just say lets find out more. I think the diamond could be definitely 95% amazing, but I would be interested to see what the WF verdict is on the images so lets see what happens, it could be the leakage isn't even perceptible to the naked eye or various other possible scenarios here.

Both are beautiful, and the F/IF is more like the cutting style of the one I own. Different cutting patterns, different "personalities" - but both are pretty. It''s a matter of personal preference as to which pattern you prefer. You seem to like the latter (the F/IF you posted), so I would try to find one that looks similar. Stone-cold''s suggestions are a great start!

Thanks for the help everyone. It appears it''s reserved already. It doesn''t even show up in the search anymore.

They might have pulled it for review, if you are interested email them and ask if it is still available, it might be.
