First of all, thank you all for your help. I learned so much from reading your posts. A month ago I almost bought a 1.5ct k color SI1 from a B&M for more $$$ than what I ended up with at WF.

I went with the following center stone from WF:
1.67 ct H VS2 Round
. Report: GIA
. Shape: Round
. Carat: 1.67
. Depth %: 61.3
. Table %: 56
. Girdle: TN-M
. Measurements: 7.63-7.60X4.67
. Polish: Excellent
. Symmetry: Very Good
. Culet: None
. Fluorescence: None

Now I am torn between these two settings. You guys (people) seem pretty familiar with both of these settings. My fear is that the Harmony will be too "loud." It is so difficult to tell how flashy it will be without actually seeing it. I also don''t want the stone to sit up too high. My gf is a school teacher so you can imagine why I don''t want anything too extreme. And thank you in advance for your anticipated help once again!

Sleek Line Pave:

Any thoughts?

They are both gorgeous and I bet she would be thrilled with either one. I happen to prefer the harmony; it just seems a bit softer to me.

Congratulations!

I love them both, but the Sleek Line has always been one of my favourite WF settings, so I''m more drawn to the Sleek Line with pave.

I agree they're both really pretty rings, and remember they're much daintier in person.

I like the soft lines of the Sleek Line Pave. The way the band tapers up to the center stone is real feminine in my eyes.

Good luck choosing!

Both settings are very stunning.. From looking at Lynn B''s photos of her harmony, i dont think the harmony would be as flashy as you think. I guess you would have to consider would your FF like the tapered band or the straight one?

My vote would be for the harmony

I prefer the way the sleek line flows, and I think it would be more comfortable for me to wear.

Congrats on your purchase!

I dont think that you can really go wrong with either of them. I like the sleek-line pave, but that's because I just ordered one from them on Tuesday! I ordered it with milgrain around the edges. KtIceRN was nice enough to post pics from her friends ring, which is the sleek line pave w/ milgrain like I described (thanks very much KT!). (Note: This is not my ring, but I will post pictures as soon as I get it in!!!)

I don''t think you could go wrong either way, they are both beautiful. That being said if I had to decide I would go with the sleek line. Good luck!!

I think they are both gorgeous settings. If I had the choice I would choose the Harmoney. Good luck!

No Problem Rcrosier. Glad I could help you out. Your ring is going to be amazing!!

I think the two rings look totally different but they are both beautiful. I like how the sleek line tapers in it really makes the center stone pop, but the harmony has a bit more bling in it. My friend is having the harmony setting done for his 2.29 ACA Princess. He was deciding between the two and chose the harmony because he didn''t think FF would like the taper of the other. They both are great but if I had to reset again I would go with the sleek line.....or the harmony, no sleek line, no harmony....oh man sorry I am no help at all. I just want one of everything!!!

Good luck!

You made a great decision buying a gorgeous stone from WF instead of a B&M. I personally have always loved the harmony sestting and I don''t think it''s a loud setting at all. In fact, I think it''s more of a delicate shimmer. The gorgeous stone you picked out is going to make this ring a knock out no matter what you pick though and the sleek line is also stunning.

I vote for the sleek line, the harmony looks a little like the head was just dropped onto the top IMO.

DITTO! I felt that way when the legato with micro-pave came out, and I feel the same way about this one...and the legato shared-prong...etc. I love how the sleek line setting tapers up to the stone.

I vote for Harmony - nothing loud about it to me.

Well thank you all for your opinions. It looks like I''m as split as all of you.

Cheers.

You really can''t go wrong either way, it''s going to be gorgeous no matter which of the two you decide! Just go with your gut on which one you think she would like better.

I''d love either. But the Harmony is my favorite by far. It''s a very rich high end look. Not too blingy I don''t think at all.

Do you think the center stone will sit higher on the Harmony?

Both settings are lovely! Regarding the Harmony setting, I do no think it would be too loud, so no worries there. The stone appears to sit low in each setting as well. The Sleek Line has more metal to it than the Harmony. This can be a good thing if your future fiance is a bit tougher on her jewelry and it might be more comfortable for her. This is not to say that the Harmony is not comfortable.

I hope that Lynn B will chime in, as her ring I believe was the inspiration for the Harmony setting.

I would be interested to know if Lynn B has lost any stones or has any maintenance issues. My FF doesn''t beat her rings up but I would imagine she won''t be taking it off any time soon. So the durability of both rings is important.

Would anyone with similar settings mind commenting on the durability and/or maintenance required by each?

Thanx

I vote for the sleek-line pave!!! It''s stunning!

Thank you all for the feedback!

I have the regular sleek line and one thing to consider is that is is VERY dainty in person. It is probably the most delicate solitaire I have ever seen, and the taper towards the stone makes the setting almost disappear from top view. You may like this, I am now finidng it a little too daintly. My fingers are a size 6.5, though, so if your gf has slim hands she may like the thinner band.

As for maintenance, ask WF they will be honest. With Pave you need to be careful and accept that you will *probably* love a stone at some point. Although I love pave, this issue is why I went with the plan solitaire. It also allows you to wear different bands: like a shared prong band, or a plain band, or a pave band...
