WF Cads are in - thoughts/critique?

hello!

attached first is the ''inspiration'' ring (daniel k - union square)

stone details:
solitaire: round brillint 1.5carat
band: 2.5mm (before it splits)
micropave set in platinum band 1.15-1.20mm melee ACA

the ring will have rounded vs. square edge band (eliminating 'exact copy' issues)

CAD details from vendor:

- All CAD images will appear a bit bulky compared to your finished ring. This extra material is needed by the jewelers, and it will be either filed down or polished away.

- Some edges may appear very sharp on the CAD images. When the ring is polished, these sharp edges will be softer.

- Please note, the prongs that hold the center stone, will be folded over the girdle (outer edge) of the diamond. They will not appear straight as they do in the CAD image.

Looks like it will be really nice to me! CADs are so annoying because it''s hard to visualize with all the little prongs sticking up. But based on other CADS I have seen, this one looks like the final ring will be dainty and very pretty!

I think it will be lovey. Try not to be thrown by the CADs, they can come back looking a bit strange but the end result will be gorgeous. Can''t wait to see pics!!

i was looking for inconsistencies/major & minor differences between the orig and CADs - couldn''t find any (too good to be true?)

I think I can see one small difference - the bottom of the prongs on the inspiration ring appear to have a ''groove'' down the length, where on the CAD it is smooth metal. Or so it looks to me, I don''t know if this is an issue.

hi MISHB,

you are right - the prongs do look different. in the original daniel k - they definitely have a metal detail almost making it look 3d (the prong that is most visible in the picture). thanks for the great catch.

i''m not sure if i''ll request the change though - maybe the flatter prong will work well for me
