Thanks EVERYONE for the compliments and well wishes! I couldn''t wait to get back and share the pictures with PS. You guys are just SO sweet.
We got extremely lucky with our photographer. The resort has wedding packages and you are basically assigned to a photog. Our photographer, Kelly Greer, was just amazing, both as a person as well as her work. It''s funny because she was on the same flight as we were to St. Croix. We met in line going through security. And through talking to the TSA agents about getting married on St. Croix we figured out that she was doing our wedding! So if you decide to get married in the USVI I highly recommend her!!
TravelingGal: I will pass on the compliments to hubby. He is wearing traditional formal clothing from his country and although I didn''t really dig the the white/white thing at first, I think now it was the perfect choice!
Mara: I did not even notice that the officiant was matching until you pointed that out! That''s exactly why you need a photographer at a wedding. My memories of the details it hazy right now and it was only a little over a week ago.
Just gorgeous!!! Many Many well wishes and congrats to you and your new hubby... its such a WONDERFUL feeling to be married (ha.. can you tell, I''m still basking in the just married happiness??)
Amazing pictures.. looks like you had a wonderful day for a wedding..
I''m with you.. the destination wedding route is the way to go!!
Jaders321: This is for you! The next two pics are of the sand cermony. We forgot the vases in the room so we had to do the actual ceremony at the reception. I think you had the sand ceremony in your wedding as well.
Wow, I am really happy that you guys are enjoying our pics! There have been so many wonderful wedding pictures here on PS, it''s nice to add my own!
Zoe: The sand ceremony is like a take-off on the unity candle. It has the same purpose: to signify the uniting of two people. In most cases I have seen sand ceremonies at beach weddings since it fits with the symbolism of the sand on the beach. In addition, it would have been cumbersome to travel with and set up unity candles for our ceremony. The vases were easy to travel with.
BTW - Jaders has some great pics of her own sand ceremony and I think she has a more detailed explanation of the process in her thread.
That photo of the two of you walking down the beach is just an amazing wedding photo, isn''t it?? Is your husband Nigerian? I ask because I''ve worked there a bit and I noticed what he was wearing looking West African/Nigerian. Lovely photos!
Jaders: I think we did shop at the same place. Was it Kensington Classics??? Thanks for starting the thread about the sand ceremony, it''s nice to get a refresher because so many details about the day were a blur unfortunately.
Belle: You know I was just thinking to myself that I hadn''t seen you around PS lately. So I am glad to see on my thread!
