After much debate my husband and I took my ring, in pieces, from the chain store and sent it off to David

He took a look at it and basically stated it was a flawed setting to begin with(I know that's no shock to many of you). The shank is actually not wide enough to hold the side stones and the channels are actually to wide (which makes me wonder why in the new settings I received, they were even wider...) his said the channels are not actually holding the stones at all, they are being held by only a small bead.
He said he actually can fix the original setting (no shock to me after seeing his work! ) but the suggestion is to remake it with a slightly wider shank(which I wouldn't mind at all as one of the things I like is how substantial the ring is) and channels that are the appropriate size to hold the stones. So I think we are probably going to go with the remake. But I am so stinking nervous about it! Any thoughts?

Your ring is in very skilled hands! David does excellent work.
It's always a bit nervewrecking to have custom made jewelry made as you cannot try it on before you buy. I am glad things are now working out for you

u're in great hands!
david's such a sweet man and won't stop until you and him are both happy with the ring.
he's been keeping me updated with every step of the ring making process, so it wont come a surprise in the end!
good luck and i cant wait to see the final thing!

I'm very confident that you will be much happier with DK's remake ring than the original!

David does amazing work, and his customer service is top notch. You are in great hands! I would trust his judgement, and go for the remake. I am confident that David will make sure you are completely happy with the final ring. :appl:

Can't wait to see your ring. DK's fabulous pieces seem to be popping up on here more frequently and I love seeing his work. :appl:

I agree with derbygal :) Look forward to seeing the finished product, and I think you can rest knowing your ring is in great hands!
