firstly thank you all for your past replies to my posts...they've been very helpful...the setting is almost done and I'm gonna seriously look at diamonds this week....
I think I've got most of the "basics" - making sure it has a GIA cert, getting it appraised, getting it insured, watch as it's being appraised and being set on the setting, etc....
however, I know the cut is the most important but I'm not clear exactly what to look for.....does each diamond come with something showing its "dimensions?" - depth, table, angles, etc.?....bottom line, how do you know it's a good cut? this part doesn't seem as obvious since the other stuff like color, etc. is on the papers and can be verified during appraisals...
also, is one cert GIA vs. AGS better than the other for cut?
the diamond I'm considering is about a 2.0 ct, round brilliant, E or F, and VVS2 or VS1 (for now)...
thanks so much...
