first up i call a purse a little thing like the sister to the wallet that keeps money and cards safe and lives in a (hand)bag
i think some of you call a handbag a purse because that one in the picture below is not a clutch purse its a fully fledged hand bag
anyway anyway i havnt seen the sex in the city reboot (i dont really like the main characters )
but this seems like a good idea to me

The late Queen had a wee thingy to suspend her handbag off the table beside her that i always quite liked the idea of too, i think they are pretty common i just dont know someone with one !

any who

i used to have a couple of big cushions on the floor for Tibby, they were always getting used for this by visitors
but who knew ?
its a thing

HI:

LOL I work in the HC field....I had to look at this twice! Stool.....

cheers--Sharon

Reminds me of Emily in Paris when she sat on the stool and the server told her it was for her purse. :mrgreen2:

that was mentioned in the article but ive never seen Emily in Paris

Well. I never!

It simply must be made by Hermès and covered in lime-green Ostrich leather like my Birkin.
Otherwise, I couldn't possibly place my bag on it.

You mean a purse hook? One of these:

I have one. I never use it. Not even sure where it's stashed currently. Wanna know why?

Because every time I'm at a restaurant or a cafe, I just drop my bag on the empty chair next to me.

Everyone does it, btw. We just designate a "wardrobe" chair on which we pile on all the bags, jackets and stuff. So a stool for a purse seems entirely reasonable to me, only we don't discriminate based on the handbag prices. :D

I was out to dinner with friends a couple years ago and a gentleman popped up out of nowhere with a seat for my clutch. Friends knew the owner of the restaurant so I assumed it was an extra courtesy due to that. Anyway, it was very convenient and I didn’t have to worry about my clutch sliding off my lap or trying to place it on the table. A purse hook wouldn’t have worked because it had no strap. I usually snag a “purse chair” at restaurants anyway, but dedicated ones are a nice amenity.

You do now @Daisys and Diamonds, I have one of those little things that attach to the table. Like you, my purse has my CC cards and money in, and my purse goes in my handbag.

Yeah i think most bars/restaurants should provide a hook or two under each table for you to hang your handbag on.

Very common to have the stools and bag hooks in Singapore and Dubai... those ladies would never put Dior on the Floor....

I hope crossbody bags never go out of style, cos I just leave my crossbody bags (they are usually small or mini) on me while I eat, or while I drive…..I have not purchased any hand held bags, totes or clutches in a while, so I don’t think I’ll have a need for a purse stool. I may need a pooch stool because my dog goes wherever we go!
