Stunning! any girl would LOVE this setting, congratulations on your engagement!

Congrats! It seems like you got a really great price on the diamond. Where did you purchase it?

The ring looks beautiful!

I''m looking a similar size myself, where did you buy it?

I''m considering palladium myself.

Why did you choose it? How did you think it compared visually to platinum? just as shiny originally? same color?

I got it from Abazias.

My gf and I went to a custom jeweler in our town and they had palladium settings. I had never heard of them - this was about 6 months-year ago. Honestly, they look completely identical, to me, to platinum. The jeweler let us get our hands on a wide array of palladium and platinum settings and the only difference was that the platinum ring was a bit heavier. He told us that they wear exactly the same for half the price. They are also a pure white metal so they don''t get gradually yellow like white gold settings over time. You know what, too, the price is very enticing. My gf is very particular and wanted nothing but platinum before we went into that store, but after leaving she was happy with the possible savings for me (read: she was thinking about that extra $1000 dollars going toward the diamond) without having to give up anything visually. I had a strict budget and I wanted a diamond over 1.3carat and palladium allowed me to do that. i''ll know even better when i get the ring friday.

The ring isn''t available on Abazias with three diamonds on either side. They have a two on each side version. My gf wanted three on each side, so on a whim I gave abazias a call and asked if there was anything that they could do for me. the woman whom i spoke with was extremely helpful and she put me in touch with the custom setting designer that they use and he had another setting exactly like the two on each side setting with three on each side. i told him exactly what i was looking for it to have - she wanted the diamond set as low as possible (she doesn''t like when the diamond is all up in everyone''s face, she prefers to let the sparkle do the work). abazias then put the order through just as if i had bought directly to them and now i am waiting for it to be set and sent to me. i was very pleased with the flexibility they offered, with the price, and with the service. i would recommend them to anyone.

Abazias - I would highly recommend. WF and Union Diamond both were selling the same stone for $300-500 more.
