Well I finally bought a ring...

Well it''s been a few months and after a lot of searching I finally got this diamond: http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds/diamond_Details.aspx?itemcode=AGS-6782305 ,
with a size 4, platinum "tiffany" 4 prong ring. http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/4-Prong--Tiffany--Style-in-Platinum_608.htm.

It was a tough choice between that stone and this one.. http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds/diamond_Details.aspx?itemcode=AGS-7048309... but in the end I guess I wanted the "mind-clean?" stone and I couldn''t even tell between the H color and the I color...

I picked it up yesterday, and just wanted to thank Katie, Brian, and JohnQuixote at WF, Pricescope, and everyone who gave me great advice on the pricescope forums. I really appreciated all your opinions and suggestions!

As soon as I can get my hands on my gf''s camera and cable when I''m alone I can post up some pics!

I have an appointment with Christine York, an appraiser from the pricescope site, right here in Houston on Friday, and I''ve checked with State Farm who can offer me a $179/year insurance policy on the ring. (cash settlement for invoice price). I hope I have all my bases covered...?

Now the hard part will be waiting a whole month before our trip to Hawaii (Oahu and Maui) before I can finally propose!

My FI and I took a trip to Maui and Oahu last August and he proposed to me there too!

I plan on doing it in Oahu on the first or second evening we''re there in the evening before sunset.. possibly on the North Shore, maybe at sunset beach...but am still open to any ideas

Good idea to do it the first or second day you are there. You don't want to be nervous for too long! A proposal at sunset on the beach sounds awesome.

We went to Maui first and less than a day after we arrived we were engaged! He proposed at the top of the Haleakala Crater after we watched the sunrise.
