Will it be a landslide? (Generic answer only, no party answer). Will it be tight? Will we know tonight? Will it take weeks??? Lets just get it over and move on!!!!

Ya know, it took me a second to figure out what you were referring to LOL. Just goes to show how stressed I am and it's not so much (though I am now that you brought it up) about the election...I already voted (by absentee ballot a few weeks ago) so now just another thing to anticipate and stress about. The waiting is the difficult part. Waiting to see what damage the next Nor'easter causes and waiting to see who is going to guide our country for the next 4 years...sigh. I cannot take all this stressful waiting. It's making me gray before my time...just like Obama LOL.

Missy, you are right-Obama has definitely "greyed" during his presidency! Maybe we can link him to the hair dye thread???

I have a feeling it will be ridiculously close and one party will demand a re-count if they loose lol

Yup!

and based on the issues in FL and OH I think there are going to be a lot of law suits as well as recounting!

Ugh.... Probably

So... Maybe by New Year?

I'm afraid America has electile dysfunction.

I'm really hoping there is not a repeat of the hanging chad fiasco of 2000, but I'm afraid we're going to be in for a very long night. Or longer than that.

NY is allowing any resident to vote anywhere in the state. That's pretty cool.

There is something so pride-inducing about walking in to my polling place on a beautiful day and seeing neighborhood folks that I see only occasionally. I could've been way more efficient by mailing in my absentee ballot, but all I had to do was walk it in. It will be soooo close!

All presidents seem to quickly gray up & age at an accelerated level during office!

yes,Romney will end up with 281 electoral votes.
no,will not know by tonight.
hope not, i wanna collect my winning within the next few days...

I work on a political campaign so basically my only thought is that this weekend will be the first weekend I'll have gotten to take in the past two and a half months.

My favorite joke that I read during the debates was about Obama greying... it said, "Obama's hair scored a big hit with "Push It.""

I think it's going to be a very long night, too, but I think we'll know by the morning who won. Hopefully! I don't think it will be a landslide.

I don't understand why we can't vote at whatever polling place we choose, no matter what state we're in. In many cases, the place where you vote may be out of your way.

I love to follow politics, especially during an election year, but I STILL don't understand why we have an electoral college. Do you think we'll get rid of it eventually? I know it's been a up for debate for a while now -- probably since 2000!

So how long do you think it will be before pundits start talking in greater detail about the 2016 election (more than just, "Hillary...will she or won't she run?")? I give it a few days.

I just had to read up on the electoral college. It seems like a strange way to vote a president in. I don't really understand how it works. Why can't each individual vote be counted like we do here in the UK?

I am jr politcal junkie so today is like Christmas! It does feel so good to vote! Though because elections are becoming increasingly bitter, polarized, and run by billionaire SuperPACs, I am happy to see this one over.

I am in the minority here though. I live on the west coast and I think by the time I go to bed tonight (~11pm PST), it will be certain or almost certain who won and maybe even a concession speech. My reasoning for this is what current polls reflect and what happened in the primaries.

b/c individual voters can easily be intimidated at the voting booth.

Couldn't voters be intimidated to vote for a different elector at the booth too? Thats if i'm understanding the system correctly.

One of the reasons The electoral college was created because the framers of our country didn't think the people who were going to be voting would be informed enough to really make the right choice. that information travelled slowly and was not always accurate.
The same situation might really still apply today if all of us who vote only get our information from one source!

This is exactly how I feel, too.

I think it will be tight, and I hope we know the result by morning.

I'm a bit disappointed. Of my 80+ students, only a handful are voting. They're in college, and most of them say they just don't care. And THEN, the ones who do care, believe that their vote doesn't count anyway so why bother?

I couldn't vote! The line is too stinking long!

It's 7 here, and the line is at least 3 hours long. The polls are supposed to close at 7. All the people in line at 7 will get to vote, so that means the count won't be final until at least 10.

They loaded up our ballots with a TON of long winded BS constitutional amendments, which are like a convoluted book to read, and no one (apparently) read the sample ballots they got in the mail. So each person in my dorky state is taking at least 20 minutes to vote. I'm pretty sure it's all on purpose.

This is the first time, since I worked so hard to become a citizen, that I haven't voted.
