My princess stone is gia vs1 with a pinpoint a dba cloud. But I've recently noticed thru my loop the whole di a.ond looks like a cloud like fuzzy with lots of tiny black dots in it. I took it to Kay's for cleaning she said it was dirt on the side cleaned it but it still looks like that

Can you take a picture through the loop?

Is it a clarity enhanced stone?

Yep that is what I was going to ask as well, has it been clarity enhanced?

So is this something that you hadn't noticed before or is it that you hadn't looked that closely at your stone before?

I don't want to be annoyiing but wouldnt the GIA certificate note if it is clarity enhanced

It's my understanding that GIA doesn't grade clarity enhanced stones... unless that has changed? And there would be no reason for a seller to clarity enhance a VS1 stone after certification.

OP: did your diamond come with a GIA certificate, or was it sold as "graded by a GIA graduate gemnologist" or something along those lines?

Not annoying at all! Sometimes, as posters dig deeper, we find that GIA might be... um... Gemological Institute of Armenia... or something like that...! So I was hoping to kill a couple of birds with one stone (not that I advocate the killing of birds, with stones or otherwise) in finding out if the stone was clarity enhanced, and also in having a closer look taken at the cert to see if it was really GIA as we have come to know and love it, or some other entity that sounded like, and perhaps even used the initials of, our GIA.

GIA VSI is totally eyeclean and the inclusions are hard to see with a 10x loupe. So either the stone is not clean, or the grading is not GIA.

What kind of setting is it in? I have a vs1 and saw tiny grey specks and streaks where none were before. Turns out it was dirt and grime that couldn't be steam cleaned out. I clean it daily and had my jeweler do it often. Finally had to remove the stone from the basket setting.
