Hello! One of my closest friends is getting married next October! AND she might be wearing my Rivini (my gift to her).

She's asked me to help her find a lovely venue. She has about 140 people and her budget is about 100 a head. To my knowledge anything in Princeton and surrounding or even in Philly or surrounding (to the east) would be acceptable, There are so many people on here from those areas, I thought I'd start here. She wants someplace visually appealing with great food (she VERY food fussy, fresh ingredients and great quality).

She would also like information on a good affordable florist ( I will post on the knot as well for this).

Any other recommendations in that area are appreciated as well (baker, band, DJ... whatever).

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Sorry I can''t be more specific, but your friend should take a look at venues around the New Hope, PA/ Lambertville, NJ area. It''s fairly close to Princeton and a really beautiful area! As I recall there were some neat reception venue options (we looked briefly in the area but ended up deciding to do the wedding elsewhere). I don''t remember prices or which ones can fit 140, but here is a site that lists some options:

Good luck to your friend!

Great! I love resource sites! And I ADORE new hope and french town. LOVE LOVE LOVE it there, personally. Great suggestions. Thank you!

Hi! I also reccomend that area as well. My wedding is at the Hyatt in New Brunswick (getting married at my old stomping grounds from undergrad - the Rutgers Kirkpatrick Chapel). They recently had a complete renovation and the place is modern and beautiful. They also have a new hotel there in New Bruns. called the Heldrich (sp?) that is great and has woderful food. My local florist came highly recommended and I love him -- Roberts Florist in Highland Park. That may be a little too far from the New Hope area though. I am sure she will find a wonderful place!

I'm doing a fly-by today!

Have you/she looked at Project Wedding and The Gathering Guide? That's where I've done virtually ALL of my vendor research, and they have been SO helpful!

P.S. How kind of you to gift her your gown!! You are a very good friend, Gypsy.

My BF and I have stayed (a few times) at a BEAUTIFUL B&B in Stockton, NJ (near Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, PA--along the Del River). The place is called Woolverton Inn and it is just lovely. I know they do weddings--we have even considered doing ours there but probably won't because of family and such--the venue is very English-country and the food is magnificant, at least it was the times we have been there. They have won countless awards in a few B&B magazines.

I added the link for you to check it out.

Good luck!

PS--we stay in the Audubon Cottage...so comfy and a view of the sheep outside! In the fall and winter, it is breathtaking!
