I''m looking for a really good spreadsheet template that someone has used that can help me to track every single purchase. I''m not too good at Excel and creating these types of things. I haven''t really enjoyed using the ones on websites like www.theknot.com. NewEnglandLady mentioned one that she used. Maybe someone else has one as well.

Thanks

i just opened my spreadsheet for the first time since the wedding and oh boy--I had 8 tabs on mine!

For a basic spreadsheed I essentially listed every task and the cost associated with that. Our wedding wasn't typical (we hosted it at a private residence, so we had to rent every little thing and we didn't have a DJ or anything like that). I used the spreadsheet on the knot as a reference because they list so many different items. For instance, instead of "dress" they'd have: Dress, alterations, shoes, veil, jewelry, etc. which is important. After I'd listed everything I could possibly think of, I attributed a budget for it. I had 4 columns for the costs: projected cost, actual cost, amount paid and balance remaining. This helped me to know how far under (or over if that's the case) budget we were and how much we'd paid vs. what was left.

The other tabs were just a personal preference. I had a "to do", "to bring (to venue)" and "to buy" list as well as a spreadsheet with every single wedding-related appt., an itinerary for the days preceeding and day of the wedding, playlist for background music, guest list with entree choice for each person, the types and amount of alcohol we needed for an open bar, etc.

I think most "folder brides" generally have about 1,000 pictures of cakes, dresses, invite samples, etc. I never had a folder for anything aesthetic, haha, the only folder I ever had was for contracts and my incredibly insane spreadsheets. I quickly learned that when it comes to wedding, it's easy to get overwhelmed by all the tasks and costs unless you stay on top of them!
