We want to use sparklers for our exit from the church and I''ve been doing some online research, but there seems to be so many choices and I''m not sure which ones would be the best. If anyone has used these or has any experience with them, I would really appreciate any advice on what would work the best. Thanks in advance!

I would probably suggest the ones that are the longest.. especially if you have alot of guests.. because you dont want it to run out before u get to the end... Also... What time is ur ceremony?? I thought most churches ceremonies were earlier in the day... and when u left you wouldnt see them?? I had planned on doing the sparkler exit when I left the reception.

We''re getting married on New Year''s Eve at 7pm. The chapel is on a college campus so isn''t exactly a "traditional" church and we can have the ceremony at what ever time we choose. We''re not doing a receiving line, so we''re doing the sparklers instead of bubbles or rose petals (or birdseed way back when people did that) if that makes sense.

Check and make sure they are legal in your state...I really wanted to do this too, but it''s apparently against the law to have any fireworks including sparklers.

This link has alot of information:

Be sure to share what your final decision is. I have been thinking of doing the same thing, when leaving my ceremony. Ours will be at 7 o''clock in the evening as well, and any kind of send off-at our reception site (which is on the 14th floor of a building) is pretty much non existant.

We had sparklers. They were so much fun! Keep in mind they take a while to light. It can be 15-20 seconds after putting a flame to them that they light (so by the time the last is the lit the first could be out!). They also make for a lot of cleanup if you have a lot of people. So if you''re going to another location immediately, someone will probably have to take responsibility for the pick up. We had a bonfire so we just tossed the burnt out sparklers in there.

We used #10 sparklers (10 inches long) and gave two to each person, along with a box of matches per couple, that was attending and it worked just fine.
