Wedding ring too tight

I purchased a non sizable wedding ring, tension! While I love the ring, it can not be sized. The cost to remake the ring is twice what I paid for it. I know gold has gone up!

So anyone have any ideas on how to reduce ones finger size a little? I know loosing a lot of weight would probably help, but nothing has motivated me to accomplish this yet.

I'm probably looking for a magic pill! :-)

Take a diuretic, or stay on a low sodium diet for a few days...drink lots of water. Blast the AC!

My fingers always swell in the summer, and by doing the above, my fingers get super-skinny again.

1. Lots of water (I notice that if I don't drink enough water my rings get tighter)

2. Cut back on the salt (look at food lables, be careful of soda, juices, etc.)

3. Exercise (the 30 Day Shred is GREAT and only takes about 20 minutes per day -- do a search for threads on this for lots of great results)

Certainly do 1 & 2. Those alone help unswell my fingers. (it is also a great way to start losing weight without having to alter your diet much or increase exercise)

thritto staying cool and cutting down on the salt as quick-fixes.

Can you have the inside of the band shaved down at all to give you a little more room?

DeeJay, you're so funny. Everyone else suggested weight/water loss. Good idea - the ring is the problem! Come to think of it, could the band be made thinner? I know I need to size-up with fatter bands, so maybe if the band were thinner it would work?

LOL Starry, if there's a way to get out of losing an ounce I'm all over it!

The problem is the ring is a tension set... no resizing, manufacturer already said no!

I got a new little anniversary ring, and want to wear it with the original wedding ring, 2 rings on my finger can't work. I can still wear the original without another ring, but I want it my way!

I've actually thought about lipo, just have a little fat sucked out of the finger.. It might be cheaper than having a new ring made!

Or just wear them both and hope in time the fat will wear away.. A compression fit.

Good advice from all! Thanks, I too try everything to avoid the issue of loosing weight.

shaving the band won't require "resizing"... I don't see why they couldn't do it with a tension band.

A tension ring needs a certain thickness to be able to maintain the appropriate pressure on the stone. Depending on how thick the OP's ring is and how close to the minimum amount needed (which depends on the alloy), shaving the inside of the ring can affect structural integrity (and stone holding power) and they may feel it is unsafe to do so.

To be honest, I lost 35 lbs and my finger size did not go down at all. I think it really depends on the person. If you're wanting to lose weight...do it for the healthier lifestyle aspect instead of the losing finger weight. I did go down an entire shoe size though.

I agree with what everyone else said....drink lots of water, and watch the sodium :)
