How do you think this would look. I am wearing a pearl necklace and bracelet, but I don''t want to go overboard on the pearls. Can you mix pearls and diamonds. I was thinking of diamond earrings and rhinestone hair combs. I''m not wearing a veil. What do you all think?
Hmm... I''m not sure what the "right" way is of wearing jewelry. But I had planned to wear white sapphire studs with a pearl bracelet. I haven''t decided on a necklace yet and wanted to put flowers in my hair instead of a decorative comb. I say do what you feel looks good on you!
I had been planning on wearing my diamond studs with my pearl necklace, but my mom said I NEEDED pearl earrings with the necklace. . .that being said, my mom is a bit of a controlling crazyperson sometimes - go with whatever makes you happy!
Is there anywhere you can go (like a bridal salon that carries jewelry, or even a Claire''s or something that would have approximations) that you could try it all on together?
The reason I ask is that jewelry combos are SO personal preference. For example, for whatever reason, I feel funny wearing both earrings AND a necklace at the same time, especially if either one is substantial (I do okay with small studs and a chain, maybe small pendant). I think it looks great on other people, but for some reason funny on me.
I don''t know anything about jewelry mixing/matching "rules," as far as your diamonds-and-pearls-together question. You know, other than that I''m sure I don''t follow whatever rules are out there...
I love diamonds and pearls together! I almost wore a small pair of studs in my second hole, but decided to go with strictly pearls for my jewelry. My veil had silvery and bead embroidery and my comb had faux pearls and little crystals. My bridesmaids wore necklaces that were pearl and rhinestone, too. I would definitely do some sort of pearl and rhinestone jewelry for your bridesmaids to bring the two together so it looks cohesive.
Ooooh, another idea - have a pearl drop made for diamond earrings...that can bring the look together as well!
And - do post your pearls to the Show Me Your Pearls thread!
