I have a relative getting married in another state and I can''t make it to the wedding. I do however plan on sending her a gift. How far ahead of the wedding would be appropriate to send the gift? I''m a bit rusty on my wedding etiquette.

I don''t think there is a ''most'' appropriate time. You can send it anytime, even after the wedding. I am sure they will be thrilled to get it whenever you send it!

I''d say it''s best to send it before the wedding. Sometimes the registry will be empty a couple of weeks before the wedding and the couple won''t refill it because they''ve already had all of their showers and pre-wedding events. If you are interested in having a good choice on what to choose, send it about 6 weeks before the wedding. This will be before the madness hits in the last couple of weeks

I send the gifts once I get the wedding invitation. Or shortly after I''ve gotten the invitation.

Yup. I wait until the invite has arrived. Getting packages in the mail was fun!

I got the invite 3 weeks ago. I sent back the RSVP a week ago and the RSVP deadline is Jne 15th.

So its not too early to send the gift even though the wedding is not until August 2nd?

If its not too early, it would be nice to do it and not worry about forgetting!

Go for it! It''s not too early at all.
