I''m 47 and this will be my second marriage. I''ve been engaged for a while and we finally set the date June 26. Its the same day of my parents'' anniversary. At first we were just going to go to a justice of the peace because we live in Indiana and our family is in okla. They wanted to give us a reception after the wedding later in the summer.

When it got down to planning I decided I really wanted a bit more of a wedding. We found this cute out of the way place in the woods. You can get married in the chapel or the gazebo. We''re leaning towards the gazebo. Its so reasonably priced, because you get your pictures and flowers if you want (included) The ceremony is going to be just us and I''ve already made my own bouquet. Was just so excited had to share. Here''s the place:

Congratulations Laurie! I''m a medium older chick, 38 years old and also my second wedding. First one was literally no wedding at all, but not worth talking about. Second one will be much more traditional but very small.

I think that your setting looks very pretty! Much better than a courthouse

Best of luck!

Laurie2 that place looks really nice. I am having a 2nd wedding as well and I wish I could find a place like that where we are from. I think it looks perfect. What are you wearing?

Laurie, your site looks wonderful! Congratulations!!

Everything looks great! :)

Congratulations! I''m a fellow ''older'' bride; married six months ago at age 48.

I love the location you''ve chosen. The dress is very nice, and certainly can be worn again; but will it be light enough for comfort in June heat? I have to laugh here at myself, ''cause I live in TX where June is a sauna at best! Probably won''t be anywhere close to that muggy up there!

Surfgirl and her hubby tied the knot by themselves sans the guests, too. Her thread would probably be an interesting one for you to look at; they had a lovely wedding.

I have this one little thought tickling the back of my mind, and at the risk of offending, which I hope I''m not, I will just say this . . . some folks who are older, and been through it all before, tend to view the wedding itself as no big deal. So they downplay it. Make it sort of an "oh, by the way, we got married" day. But IMHO, I think if the ''wedding'' wasn''t important to us, well, we just wouldn''t bother with it. So don''t overlook details that will make this day very special for both of you. Even if it is just the two of you, make it a celebration.

TOTALLY agree. It doesn''t matter if this is your first marriage or third. You are celebrating a new commitment and the beginning of a new life together and you should definitely make the most of it.

Love your choices so far! Congrats!

Hi Laurie2,

I think your venue pictures are so cute! I''m so happy for you that you found something you are really excited about.

We''re getting married in Sept. and I''ll be 36 and he''ll be 39. I found a cute, out of the way place in the woods (it''s a B&B) too.
