I am convinced that my wedding is going to blind my guests. But it's just so...me. I mean, pale pinks and purples and silvers are nice and quite pretty, but somehow didn't seem to suit me very much.
I went out and purchased my bridesmaid's dress material yesterday, and I wanted to run my ideas past everyone to see what you all thought.
Keep in mind...I'm a young bride (I'll turn 23 exactly 15 days before the wedding), and I am consistently dressed in colors like bright pinks, teals, greens, and purples. We're getting married on May 18th, 2007. I am getting married in a Catholic church, but I've yet to see any constraints placed on what you can and can't do for weddings. The location is beautiful but extremely neutral in colors, so I wanted to...punch things up a bit.
BTW, my mom and dad got married in the same church 27 years ago, and their colors were peach and a lime/sage type green.
Okay, without further ado, some pictures.
From left to right: the tux for my dad, my fiancee's brother, my brother, and my fiancee.
My bridesmaid dresses are going to be something like this:
White on top with colored skirts. The green material I got matches the green vest/tie combo in the first photo, and the purple material I got matches the purple vest/tie combo in the first photo. I am having two maids of honor and two best men, and that's the entire wedding party. So, the couple dressed in purple will walk together, and the couple dressed in green will walk together.
My bouquet is also going to be in that purple/green scheme, but with white flowers added in to break things up a bit.
My dress will be bright white as well, I just haven't purchased that yet.
Any suggestions about bridesmaid bouquets? Or what to do about corsages for the moms? Or boutinnieres for the groomsmen and my future hubby?
And opinions are welcome...be gentle!
