I am convinced that my wedding is going to blind my guests. But it's just so...me. I mean, pale pinks and purples and silvers are nice and quite pretty, but somehow didn't seem to suit me very much.

I went out and purchased my bridesmaid's dress material yesterday, and I wanted to run my ideas past everyone to see what you all thought.

Keep in mind...I'm a young bride (I'll turn 23 exactly 15 days before the wedding), and I am consistently dressed in colors like bright pinks, teals, greens, and purples. We're getting married on May 18th, 2007. I am getting married in a Catholic church, but I've yet to see any constraints placed on what you can and can't do for weddings. The location is beautiful but extremely neutral in colors, so I wanted to...punch things up a bit.

BTW, my mom and dad got married in the same church 27 years ago, and their colors were peach and a lime/sage type green.

Okay, without further ado, some pictures.

From left to right: the tux for my dad, my fiancee's brother, my brother, and my fiancee.

My bridesmaid dresses are going to be something like this:

BMdresses-1.jpg

White on top with colored skirts. The green material I got matches the green vest/tie combo in the first photo, and the purple material I got matches the purple vest/tie combo in the first photo. I am having two maids of honor and two best men, and that's the entire wedding party. So, the couple dressed in purple will walk together, and the couple dressed in green will walk together.

My bouquet is also going to be in that purple/green scheme, but with white flowers added in to break things up a bit.

My dress will be bright white as well, I just haven't purchased that yet.

Any suggestions about bridesmaid bouquets? Or what to do about corsages for the moms? Or boutinnieres for the groomsmen and my future hubby?

And opinions are welcome...be gentle!

I love the color scheme! I''m also 23 and my favorite colors and purple and green. As for flowers, I''d say the guys bouts should match their vests, the corsages should match their husbands'' bouts, and bridesmaid bouquets should match their skirts or just be white (you could carry a multi-color bouquet that incorporates all the colors), or if you can afford them orchids would look great, use those fantastic green orchids mixed with white flowers! Orchids are just wonderful, but you can go a lot less expensive by using something simpler, like white roses and babies breath (my BMs carried plain babies breath bouquets and they looked great!)

Nice idea.. How bout flowers though??

Awww...I see nothing wrong with it. I think it''s pretty cool actually! And I love your avatar!

I think the colors look nice!

I''d keep the flowers the same for both bridesmaids/groomsmen, to tie the two colors together. Maybe have the girls carry bouquets that are mostly white with touches of purple and green (like yours, but maybe more color in yours to balance your white dress). you could even add in a little orange, for a little more color. For the groomsmen, I think I would stick to white, since there is so much color in the vests. You could add some color to hubbys bout. For the moms, I''d say anything goes, maybe white with some bits of purple and green, as long as it doesn''t clash horribly with their dresses.

As for what specific flowers, I''d talk to your florist. I think something with a tropical flair would be lovely! I really love the bright cheery colors, I''m sure it will be beautiful!

This looks like it will be a lot of fun! I agree with the above posters that you should either match your flowers for the girls to their skirts or do just white flowers. I think bouts to match vests would be fantastic, too.

I absolutely LOVE all the colors!!!!!!!!!

For the BM''s and the Men I''d do white flowers -- girls with a ribbon that''s the opposite of thier skirt color. Groom flowers in a color that matches your colorful bouquet.

Corsages for Mom etc -- personally I''d let them pick the color to go with thier dresses.

You guys are all lovely peaches. Thank you so much for the input!!!!

How about gerber daisiees.. you can also do baby gerbers as well... They come in a variety of colors and can look very good.. I am attaching soe pics of Corsages for my Mother and MIL and I used baby Gerbers for the Bounti. My bouquet was gerbers and roses and the BM had gerbers with all the same color but with different colors for each bride according to their dresses.. Sorry I do not know how to poast more than 1 pic at a time.. sorry about all the pictures.
