With so many decisions to make, the simplest decisions are starting to seem monumental and too complex. I need help!!

I think my cake will be four tiers. I had a tasting today and the samples were so yummy!!

Here are the flavors I like best::

vanilla w/ strawberry mousse
lemon cake w/ lemon mousse
red velvet (my fiance''s favorite)
and a chocolate option (either chocolate cake w/ chocolate mousse or vanilla cake w/ chocolate mousse...I am leaning toward vanilla cake w/ chocolate mousse).

anyway, which flavor would you make each layer?

6"
8"
10"
12"

Do you think a vanilla w/ strawberry mousse would be most universal? Here is what I was thinking

6" red velvet or lemon
8" lemon or red velvet
10" vanilla w/ chocolate mousse or chocolate cake w/ chocolate mousse
12" vanilla cake with strawberry mousse

I like it the way you have it. And because I''m not a lemon fan, I''d put it at the top.

Sounds yummy BTW!!!

I would probably switch them around and do something like

6"lemon
8"vanilla/strawberry
10"red velvet
12"chocolate

The red velvet doesn''t have a strong, unique flavor in my opinion (maybe its just in my head!) so I think that would be more universal that anything strawberry or lemon. And then the chocolate or vanilla/chocolate would be the biggest because almost everyone likes chocolate hehe. They all sound really good though!

I did something similar where I am having:

1 - red velvet with cream cheese icing
2- vanilla with lemon buttercream
3- vanilla with strawberry buttercream....

But I think I might make 2 layers in the red velvet cause everyone likes chocolate! Then again, I was really excited about having a piece of each flavor!!!

Ooh yummy!!

I would do:

6" lemon
8" red velvet
10" vanilla/strawberry
12" chocolate/chocolate

Mm...want cake...
