I have a split shank e-ring which is channel-set with a 1.42ct tsavorite cushion (7.25 x 5.75) and has pave set prongs. Pictures in September I promise! I am about to commission a wedding ring to match and wanted to see what others with splitshank rings have done.

I know it won''t sit flat against it and I''m fine with that, but I am debating whether or not to have it notched so it doesn''t move against the prongs too much.

Final question - I am currently wearing my e-ring right up against the end of my finger and it is a perfect fit - a little lower down it feels a bit tight. If I am wearing a wedding band that will push my e-ring down 3-4mm - since my e-ring is going back so the band can be made to match should I have it sized up a quarter size? Or will my finger shrink due to wearing the ring? Or can you wear your w-ban on top of your ering?

Thanks!

If you want to wear the w-band closest to your hand i would size the e-ring up a bit because they fit tighter when they are on your finger together. If you want to wear it the other way around though, that is a personal preference. I''m not sure about the prongs really. Sorry!

First question-will the band be a straight edged band or curved? If it is straight-edged, I would not notch it as it could be worn as a stand-alone ring. If it is curved, I would consider having it notched or soldered together.

I agree with poptart...I would have the e-ring resized a bit larger and wear the band first, then the e-ring.

Hope that helps!
