What do you guys think of a HIS and HERS wedding band in duo toned yellow and white 18k gold? Either having the yellow gold as the center with the white gold on the two outer or vice versa? For HER, I would have a one diamond so as to make it more feminine.
First, is that what SHE wants? If it is, then I think it sounds great.
DH has a two tone wedding band, polished yellow outsides and then inside is brushed white gold. I love it and it''s totally him. It needs a good cleaning but DH never takes it off and won''t let me take it to the jewelers.
I just got a new setting earlier this month that is 18K yellow gold with platium prongs. I have it paired up with a 18K yellow gold wedding band but for Christmas, I plan on asking DH to get me the "girlie" version of his ring. Since my ring has two tone to it, I feel like I can pull it off and it match well with my new e-rong setting. The only difference is, mine will have a platinum center because I can''t wear white gold anymore. DH''s is 6mm wide but mine will be 3mm or 4mm wide.
Most people don''t do the husband-wife matched set anymore, but the older I get, the more traditional I become
and now WANT a matching ring of DH''s. We already have matching Omega watches (two tone as well)!
Hubby and I have matching wedding bands, exactly as you describe - all in 18k with a yellow gold band, a smalller inner white gold band and then back to yellow again. The only difference is that his is slightly wider than mine. We both love them and the only downside with mine is that perhaps it''s a bit too wide and so I have to be careful what other rings I put next to it.
Gary, if I were in your shoes, I would've replied exactly as you have... my problem here is my fiancee is very traditional and in the Taiwanese culture, there is a tradition where the woman needs a yellow round gold to wear on her finger (beats the hell out of me why this is so and instead of bickering about this, we've compromised). Rather than getting an extra yellow gold band, I thought to make it two toned instead and to make ours matching...
That was the thinking. Personally, if I weren't given this constraint, I would've gone with all white gold or platinum for the wedding band instead of duo toned.
Was just wondering if people do wear these anymore and if it is possible to add a diamond on a 3mm width wedding band with duo toned?
DH and I have plain wedding bands like that...white gold in the middle and thin "rings" of yellow gold on both sides of the white gold. Both are 6 mm and if I had to do it over again I''d go thinner on mind. I wear a size 4 ring for reference.
